- Check out our newest demonstrating feasabilty of sub-mm whole brain EEG-fMRI at 7T. Happy to have been part of this amazing collaboration and thank you so much to Cristina and João for leading this project 😊👍.
- New paper in Imaging Neuroscience by C. Sainz Martinez, J. Jorge, et al: An optimized framework for simultaneous EEG-fMRI at 7T enabling safe, high-quality human brain imaging with millisecond temporal resolution and sub-millimeter spatial resolution doi.org/10.1162/IMAG...

- This is amazing, thank you so much, @layerfmri.bsky.social and team - super helpful, esp. Fig 6&7! After 5 years, I still get puzzled by the way bandwidth and echo spacing/readout time are linked on Siemens. Maybe it’s Philips nostalgia or too much spiral acquisition - where every sample matters ;-)

- Hence use VASO :-)
- Happy to see this out: our new preprint shows that laminar GE-BOLD fMRI decoding isn’t immune to vascular draining biases. Simulations reveal false positives due to multivariate signal spread across layers, but oversampling + deconvolution can (sometimes) improve specificity.

- I've always wanted to explore fMRI time series as a smooth, real-time movie. Now I can with LayNii IDA. Plus, with voxel-wise correlations on the fly. Fast, intuitive, and surprisingly insightful. 40 ms TR fMRI data from @practicalfmri.bsky.social ! @layerfmri.bsky.social @afni-pt.bsky.social

- In @thetransmitter.bsky.social , @layerfmri.bsky.social writes about new advances in #fMRI that allow neuroscientists to study directionality & connectivity in the human brain at the network level, info that's vital for developmental & psychiatric research. www.thetransmitter.org/future-of-fm... 🧪
- 🚨🚨🚨PREPRINT ALERT🚨🚨🚨 Neural dynamics across cortical layers are key to brain computations - but non-invasively, we’ve been limited to rough "deep vs. superficial" distinctions. What if we told you that it is possible to achieve full (TRUE!) laminar (I, II, III, IV, V, VI) precision with MEG!
- Human neuroscience research has largely overlooked the mesoscale, which bridges cells and brain areas. But new advances in fMRI technology are changing that, writes Laurentius Huber @layerfmri.bsky.social. #neuroskyence www.thetransmitter.org/future-of-fm...

- New in LayNii v2.9.0: Introducing *LayNii IDA*, a high-performance tool for real-time interaction with ultra–high resolution MRI data. Built for speed, designed for discovery. Still early, but a big step toward the next era of 7T fMRI: higher resolution, larger datasets. github.com/layerfMRI/La...
- The real time voxel-wise correlations are inpired by AFNI's InstaCorr, and BrainVoyager's time course interaction interface, while being a completely independent implementation of the technique. @layerfmri.bsky.social @afni-pt.bsky.social @bobcoxauthor.bsky.social @rainergoebel.bsky.social

- Looking forward to be talking about this at ISMRM :) I will be there from Saturday to Tuesday and keen to talk about this and everything else Neurodesk!
- Neurodesk now integrates with Siemens OpenRecon :) Bring your image processing pipeline to the MRI scanner and accelerate clinical translation. This will be presented at ISMRM 2025 on Monday, 12th of May, 10am at the Siemens Booth, 4pm at poster 1962 and at the MAGNETOM User Meeting.
- The scientific community needs to develop processes to support, hire and retain researchers whose work sits between traditional fields of study, writes @avramholmes.bsky.social #neuroskyence www.thetransmitter.org/future-of-fm...
- Completely agree w/ everything @avramholmes.bsky.social lays out here. fMRI has a big role to play in helping link across scales of measurement, neural organisation and species. But for that to work, we need to incentivise the growth and development of scientists that can translate across domains.
