Peter Molfese
Former dance instructor, current neuroscientist. Multimodal imaging methods aficionado. Opinions are my own. Washington DC.
- Reposted by Peter MolfeseWith some trepidation, I'm putting this out into the world: gershmanlab.com/textbook.html It's a textbook called Computational Foundations of Cognitive Neuroscience, which I wrote for my class. My hope is that this will be a living document, continuously improved as I get feedback.
- Reposted by Peter MolfeseNew Open dataset alert: 🧠 Introducing "Spacetop" – a massive multimodal fMRI dataset that bridges naturalistic and experimental neuroscience! N = 101 x 6 hours each = 606 functional iso-hours combining movies, pain, faces, theory-of-mind and other cognitive tasks! 🧵below
- github.com/pmolfese/NIf... Continuing to iterate on Quick Look Previews for NIfTI files. Now works with dark mode on macOS 15 and later. New Makefile to simplify compilation and install: make all && make install. Details on GitHub. #nifti #mri #quicklook #neuroimaging
- Releasing a NIfTI Quick Look tool compatible with macOS 15+. This is necessary since Apple significantly changed those frameworks and broke the (legendary?) Gary Zhang's old NIfTI plugin. PRs welcome! Download and build with Xcode: github.com/pmolfese/NIf... #mri #macOS #nifti #neuroscience #science
- This will helpfully allow you to view the contents of a NIfTI image when selecting it in the macOS finder and pressing the space-bar.

- Reposted by Peter MolfeseYou know the "🔹AI Overview" you get on Google Search? I discovered today that it's repeating as fact something I made up 7 years ago as a joke. - PSA for applications for graduate school: 1) your backstory can be interesting and not read like a pitch for the next limited-run Netflix show; 2) you’re allocated a maximum of 3 commas per sentence, with bonus points for the occasional semicolon; 3) passive voice is bad.
