- This paper marks the end of a long but rewarding project - and the start of something new (more below👇). Massive thanks to @kaessmannlab.bsky.social, @ioansarr.bsky.social, @tyamadat.bsky.social, our amazing collaborators @steinaerts.bsky.social, Stefan Pfister, Rüdiger Behr and the entire team! 💙
- We are thrilled that our study on the evolution of gene regulation in mammalian cerebellum development – led by @ioansarr.bsky.social, @marisepp.bsky.social and @tyamadat.bsky.social, in collaboration with @steinaerts.bsky.social – is now out in @ScienceMagazine! www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
- I've started my own lab 🎉 PhD/postdoc positions available - reach out if curious about cerebellum evo-devo and autism spectrum disorders. We’re based at Uni Tartu, Institute of Genomics (home to Estonian Biobank), and funded by @simonsfoundation.org @embo.org, and the Estonian Research Council.

- Very pleased to share our latest pre-print which showcases the incredible hard work and skill of Dr Okan Sevim. Our continued exploration of β-catenin's contribution to the post transcriptional landscape of blood cells led us to a LIN28B interaction. 1/7 www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

View full threadAbsolutely, we see pronounced fetal signatures in JMML, too: aacrjournals.org/bloodcancerd... Unfortunately, LIN28B is not well captured in the scRNA data. However, I remember clusters revealing pronounced b-catenin expression patterns. Will check this again… maybe we can find shared programs.
- Very cool paper, on my reading list! We were desperate to get hold of some primary JMML samples for this very reason but not a resource widely available in the UK. We'd be very interested in hearing more about this. Perhaps we could talk more offline?
- Exciting topic! Looking forward to reading this preprint.
- Thanks Mark, we think so too although of course a little biased. Hopefully the field agrees! LIN28B is a fascinating RBP in the haematopoietic system.
- Well done Okan!

- Epigenetics that matters! Very cool work on hard to hard-to-access cell types . Finally some solid epigenetics examples that should be used in textbooks! Congrats to Mathieu and team @embl.org Rome!
- This went under the radar but answers a fundamental question in Epigenetics... From many hundreds of olfactory receptor genes, each neuron selects expression of only single one (near-randomly). How? Outstanding work from Mathieu Boulard and colleagues www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
