- ICM Toilet time!!! Not super realistic without texture but I wanted to build it out of the box 😝 I am really happy with the shade though I think it is not too gloomy and it has a nice contrast with the figures while not being distracting 😁 #histscalemodels

- Big 15mm Impetus 2 game at Chris B’s today, in his Wargames Attic. Late Romans vs Sassanids. Really great to be playing ancients again #wargames #wargaming #shedowar

View full threadI’ve read some good books over the last year or so and it was this ability to replace armies that made the Romans different. Led to their empire. Early on I think it had a lot to do with their allies in Italy. Later, in empire times, loot from wars supercharged the professional legions.
- PM you. Data is intriguing
- Despite internet issues last night I still managed to get this 28mm Beaverette done! Painted in an Irish Army scheme. It’s a tiny vehicle, something to intimidate German tigers I’m sure!!

- True however, the Romans and Sassanians seem to have often battled to a vicious, painful stalemates with serious casualties on both sides but no clear winner. Rather than the loosing loads of men during the rout.
- What has always intrigued me is where they got their armies from. In particular the wars with Hannibal. Rome losses 3 -4 armies, the Italian homeland invaded and ravaged, but somehow they raise another 50,000 and train them!!! Impressive, but “how” did they do it!
- Random hobby photos. North West Frontier civilians. Details here: www.matakishi.net/north-west-f...
- WEST MID-LARDS I want to get 20 confirmations so I can get the shop booked ASAP. I think if we say £15 per person that should rapidly cover our costs and everything after that will go to cancer research because quite simply; "**** cancer". For the curious, July 4th - maps.app.goo.gl/XJfBWsAwx72e...

View full threadMakes sense. You can always test and adjust for the next one.
- And wouldn't it be good if it became annual?
- So did late Roman/Sassanian battles if we’re honest.
- The losses in any “ancient” battle are truly staggering if the histories are to be believed.
- Heavy casualties, sounds about right.
- Yep, Impetus usually gives bloody battles😀
- Sounds like a plan. Something that might be worth considering due to the venue, it might be worth having a few general public participation games available alongside the event games? These sacrificial lambs can keep the public busy whilst everybody else enjoys their games.
- I thought of that but the advice from everyone who has done of of these before in shops say it's better not to and their reasoning seems good. At the mo if we get 20 people that's all 5 offered games full and the shop has 12 tables so they can still do a little of their usual if we don't "sell out".
