- People think Tesla’s sales are tanking because the owner is a wanker (definitely a big factor). But seems to get overlooked that their cars boring and they have been overtaken by all the other electric car manufacturers 🤷🏻♂️
- Have been asked by a couple of publicans this week if we are also putting our prices up. Assume they are all doing new menus/price lists as a result of the big two putting their prices up. We are not.

- There’s a lot of people that will only buy the most expensive beer on the bar. They consider cheaper beer, worse beer, which isn’t necessarily the case. So in some ways it’s a race to the top.

- Fair play to the big breweries for the constant price increase. It helps keep smaller breweries like out sustainable, and keep our pricing competitive.

- The brewery had over 10k followers on Twitter, I’d say it was a massive part of growing our business between 2010 and 2020. Was happy enough to walk away in 2024, partly because it was pretty obvious the new owner was a prick, it had also stopped being effective unless you were willing to to pay.
- Well, would you look at that!!!
- Hahaha, the irony! Assume they’re just mad because we don’t give them any money. Surly pictures of pints is not where they draw the line? Did Side Show Bobby not just say pints are good for you?

- Great start to 2026, Dark Arts now pouring in Sheehans. Always nice to remind people *other porters are available!!! Probably need to get working on a dedicated glass now that it seems to be getting a bit of momentum.
- Auto enrolment looks like a great idea. Credit to whoever came up with it. Really easy to sign everyone up for it too.

- Day 1 of the annual diet, currently tucking into the babies crackers. Fair to say it’s going well!
- So this is 2026! I don’t hate it.
- First time seeing one of these driverless cars in the wild. Way more normal than expected and didn’t appear to run anyone over

- The Irish health system has its flaws, but as someone who just spent 4 days in the Mater, have to say my treatment was exceptional, the people working there are brilliant, kind and professional. Can’t thank them enough. (Don’t ask, I’m all good) Just wanted to publicly acknowledge the amazing work.
- I’ve been doing this 15+ years, and have been in easily over a hundred breweries. This is one of the nicest experiences I’ve had. Beers are phenomenal, brewery is very impressive and the owner is super sound. Lost and Grounded, Bristol.
- Early start today!

- Benedict Cumberbatch and Amazon are conspiring to make consider subscribing to YouTube just so I don’t have to see their poxy advert again.
- I’ve only just recovered from Sunday evening’s entertainment. Thank you to @braciatrix.bsky.social @beerfoodtravel.bsky.social @lmulligangrocer.bsky.social and everyone that came along. I’d a lovely evening chatting about all things Irish beer with so many Irish beer people!!!

- Looking forward to this tomorrow, hoping to see plenty of familiar faces. Irish beer is in a weird place with so few events these days, Underdog closing and there only being about two pubs in the country that don’t pour the stout.
- December is the month in beer sales when you either get rewarded for all the work you did during the year or becomes fairly obvious you’ve been at nothing!
- As an employer I’m into this auto enrolment. Would be nice if I could sign up. Can also see how the new costs could send big companies on tight margins over the edge.

- So cool to see the rapid growth in renewable energy over the last year or two. In spite of some people’s best efforts, and years later than maybe it should have happened. But still it’s really cool, feels like there’s serious moment now too.
- Just seen an Re-turn advert saying putting your bottles and cans in your recycling bin isn’t as good as returning them to machines. Why? Isn’t as good for who?
- One year married today. Took my wife out for tacos. #classyguy
