- It's not actually mandatory to be either working in a Nordic country or indeed in Nordic meteorology (I'll be presenting Antarctic climate work), so if you would like to hang out with the cool kids on a very weather beaten group of islands and talk about weather and climate for a few days...
- Calling all Nordic meteorologists: Nordic Meteorology Meeting #NMM26 will be held for first time ever in Faroe Islands. They have negotiated some good transport deals + reductions for ECRs. It's a fun crowd and some nice excursions. Come + join us www.greengate.fo/events/nordi... 🧪⚒️⛏️🥼

- My experience of working on #Antarctic climate and weather with Ukrainian colleagues is very much this. I am genuinely in awe and extremely humbled by their dedication and sheer hard work under extremely difficult conditions. It's a lesson to us all.
- So, #ClimateSky, solve an argument between co-authors: When writing a paper specificalyy using outputs from #CMIP6 models, do you prefer to use GCM or ESM as descriptor? #GlobalClimateModel #EarthSystemModel

- Hah cool, thanks, I should have thought of checking there...
- Yes I used to correct that all the time! Then we had AOGCMs too.. At least regional climate models have bene consistent..
- But in general I'd use ESM instead of GCM for models that at least have to have a carbon cycle. On the other hand, do we many of the CMIP6 models actually not have carbon?

- Actually that's a good point, differentiating between concentration rather than emissions driven experiments is a logical way to divide up. It's interesting how our language has evolved around this.
- Secondarily: why aren't there poll options on BSky yet?
- Yes yes I know I'm in Antarctica and it is cool and all, but, *Natural ice skating* in Denmark! Enjoy it all you lucky devils, heaven only knows when the possibility will come round again... www.dr.dk/nyheder/indl...
