Writer for young people, sometimes librarian. Mention the climate crisis and criticise fossil fuel sponsorships whenever I possible can.

- Here's the third excuse for fossil fuel sponsorship (and why I don't agree) Refusing to promote companies destroying the planet is actually just good manners.
- Number 2 of 5 common excuses for accepting fossil fuel sponsorship (and why it doesn't make sense)
- Fantastic resource from Front Runners with everything you need to get furious about Santos's sponsorship of the Tour Down Under. Fossil fuel companies try to convince us we can't have nice things without them. The reverse is true: they will kill everything we love. #DumpSantos www.protecttdu.au
- "A good first step would be to replace the fossil fuel sponsorship of the Tour Down Under. You cannot sell health, human performance, and the future, while promoting businesses that actively undermine that future." www.theguardian.com/sport/2026/j...
- First in series of five excuses I often hear for accepting fossil fuel sponsorship...and why I still think the harm is greater than the good
- Pleased to see the confluence of one of my favourite things (Juice Media) and my least favourite (Santos's sponsorship of TDU)

- Call me a dreamer, but I think we can have bike races without fossil fuel sponsorship. Good on cyclists for speaking up about this.

- As much as this book is about kids on music camp it is also a creative wing of www.chumpslist.org where I list fossil fuel sponsorships in Australia and the people trying to stop them
- Loved to see this staff recommendation for Music Camp when I was panicking in their shop (don't worry I found the present I needed.) Thanks to UQP for publishing Music Camp this year and to everyone who supports the vision for a safe world where all kids can pursue their dreams with friends

- Since the social media ban started some young teens in my neighbourhood have started a club, well it's really more a business than a club, offering to babysit younger children. You can only reach them on a landline and one of them has diabetes. Heartwarming.

- Conversation in my house this morning: Me: Kris is coming to fix the bathroom. Child: Who's Kris. Me: He's a man who fixes things. Child: Is he the one who pulled all the bras out of the wall? Me: No. Let me make this conversation make sense for you...

- A lack of government funding isn't an excuse to take fossil fuel sponsorship. You wouldn't: - rob a train - defraud pensioners - advertise asbestos Fossil fuels will kill everything we love unless we kick them out of society. But we CAN have nice things without them.

- "Belinda Noble, founder of Comms Declare, said: “This is climate obstruction dressed up as education. We wouldn’t let big tobacco sponsor teaching materials – fossil fuel companies shouldn’t shape how kids learn about the climate.” Quite right. Should be illegal www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...
- Fossil fuel sponsored education programs distract from & obscure harms caused by fossil fuels. These companies aim to delay the energy transition, harming the kids they claim to help. It should be illegal. Thanks @commsdeclare.bsky.social for this work. www.desmog.com/2025/12/07/e...

- Woodside are expanding fossil fuels during the climate crisis. They have chosen to be the bad guys. We shouldn't let them launder their reputations through our community institutions. Student & staff members of @stopwoodsidemonash campaigned fearlessly against Woodside's partnership at Monash Uni.

- Cricket Australia is the first Chump to evolve into a Champ and then revert back to a Chump again. Dropped Alinta sponsorship 2023 New Origin sponsorship 2025 Global heating caused by fossil fuel companies like Origin will kill cricket. This is sad. Vale their values. www.chumpslist.org/chumps
- For everyone watching #TheAshes a shout out to Australia’s “platinum partner Origin Energy, which is the largest institutional investor in everyone’s favourite “renewables company” Octopus Energy, and one of Australia’s most aggressively expanding fossil gas producers
- Conservation Council SA's new campaign is Dump Santos. They are calling for the SA govt to end Santos's sponsorship of the Tour Down Under. The Santos branded race will ride past areas affected by the algal bloom. Makes me mad. Join and take action to Dump Santos dump-santos.conservationsa.org.au
