I see refurbishing Parliament is budgeted at up to £40billion.
Here's an idea - flog the buildings off to a hotel chain or something, and build a purpose-built new Parliament in the Midlands somewhere.
That'd cost way less, and cause multiple head explosions among the flagshaggers as an added bonus.
Or make it move around the regions. A week here, a week there. There’s plenty of spaces big enough to accommodate it.
Two benefits: 1) expose those in power to what’s going in around the country, 2) those in it for themselves rather then the public good will probably get pissed off and drop out.
