Lowering the Bar
Legal humor. Seriously.

- This is where the “War on Terror” was always going to end up—charging political opponents with “terrorism.”

- More proof ICE’s primary mission isn’t immigration anymore. Trumpists have turned it into a Brownshirt-style far-right paramilitary force and here’s Bannon admitting they’re gonna use it to intimidate opposition voters.

- ICE tear gassed a bunch of children on Saturday. This was a massive escalation of force. They were shooting tear gas at the back of the crowd, it took these unmasked people maybe 3-5 minutes in the cloud of tear gas to escape in without trampling. www.theverge.com/policy/87278...
- Reposted by Lowering the BarRemember the incident where DHS claimed officers shot a guy because he attacked them with a snow shovel? Yeah. It didn't happen. They shot him through the door of his own home. And then arrested him. And then lied about it. Again. And they almost shot some kids in the process.

- Reposted by Lowering the BarThree rules in FBI firearm training: 1. Always point your weapon downrange 2. Do not point your weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot 3. Don’t put your finger on the trigger unless you intend to shoot Guns are not for threatening compliance for unarmed people doing things you don’t like

- Go ahead. We don’t need the TSA (we never did), and then we can pull all of the “aid” we send red states like yours, you absolute moron.
- Back when we had a democracy a president was forced to resign because he tried to cover up a third-rate burglary.
- Reposted by Lowering the BarThey should be impeaching him every single day. New crime, new impeachment. They should keep impeaching him once he’s out of office. They should keep impeaching him after he’s dead.
- Reposted by Lowering the BarThe last time he started talking like this, his allies minimized the risks and we ended up with January 6. This time we must take him literally and seriously. These comments are a five-alarm fire for democracy. In a functioning republic, he would be impeached and removed from office today.
- Trump: "These people were brought to our country to vote, & they vote illegally. The Republicans should say, we should take over the voting in at least 15 places. The Republicans ought to nationalize the voting. We have states that I won that show I didn't win. You're gonna see something in Georgia"
- He just says it out loud. I mean, not “I’m a traitor to the Constitution” but words to that effect.
- Sad news today: this case wasn’t quite real.
- It’s spent months trying to figure out how *not* to inform Congress, they mean. This is just a coverup.

- What a dope. He won’t be the one having fun if he actually files that lawsuit.
- Should say “take apart” (or something with similar rhythm) instead of “dismantle,” but I’m just mad I didn’t think of it first. 9.9.
- Torn between “Abolish ICE” and “Stephen Coldbert” for #1. But you can vote for six.

- Some would feel ashamed they didn’t try harder (to commit fraud, that is). He claims to have worked *5,242* hours in a year. 365x24=8,760. So almost exactly 60% of the total. 14 hours and 21 minutes a day. Every single day. And about half the documentation for this is missing.
- If this is real (and I find that hard to believe but then again Trump is somehow the president), the match is supposed to end at Civic Center. So that’s where to set up the guillotines.

- Look how they hop out, guns drawn, ready to kill this woman who was doing nothing but exercise her right to record what government agents are doing in public. This is assault and they should all be prosecuted for it.
- This is just insane. It’s only a matter of time before DHS kills another innocent person here. (clip via MPR and @davidjbier.bsky.social on X)

- WTAF are ICE agents doing in Italy to begin with? Why would they be the ones to “protect US athletes” (assuming protection is even necessary)? Or did they volunteer so they could take a side trip to put flowers on Mussolini’s grave?

Failure to prosecute Bovino & everyone else materially responsible for these atrocities will be understood by ICE, CBP, etc as a green light for the next ones
