- Trans people were the proving grounds to normalize the made up term "biological sex"to roll back decades of progress on gender equality. When you get bioessentialist language, suddenly everything from gender roles to marriage becomes an argument about "biology." www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
-
View full threadA lot of people will be in denial. They'll simply say, "well, if trans people hadn't overreaached this wouldn't have happened" and blame trans people even more. This is regardless of the intent of the people behind this. Trans people were simply a means to an end. We're harmed even worse by this.
- They're going to destroy anti discrimination law and going after trans people in the law and culture is going to be the means to do it.
- Now conservatives are launching an effort to overturn Obergefell using the terms "biological sex" and "biological parent" to argue that marriage equality is unnatural and against biology. The same will be applied to women's roles, that working or going to school is against their "biological sex."
- They got people used to talking about women being inferior and needing gender segregation to protect them in the realm of sports and now they will seek to use that framework in every aspect of life. They'll argue women aren't equipped biologically to be in law enforcement or the military.

- Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again. #Pinks #ProudBlue
- Context: this speech is from SIR THOMAS MORE, a history written, as near as scholars can tell, in the early 1600s by 6 or 7 people including Dekker, Heywood, Chettle, Shakespeare, and Munday. It was never performed, because Jacobean England was a police state and it was banned by the censor.
