- 📢 Excited to share that our study has just been published in Nature Communications! We uncover how CRL4-DCAF12 regulates the cellular levels of MCMBP, a chaperone essential for assembling nascent MCM2-7 complexes, to ensure accurate and error-free genome duplication.
- 💡 Our previous work showed that MCM equilibrium is maintained by two distinct protein pools – parental and nascent MCMs (www.nature.com/articles/s41...). In this new study, we reveal how CRL4-DCAF12-mediated degradation of MCMBP provides a new quality control step in this process.
- 👉During MCM biogenesis, MCMBP facilitates the assembly and transport of newly synthesized MCM subcomplexes into the nucleus.
