- Haven't talked a lot about it here... I am part of @gmtg-germany.bsky.social. In spring we sail again to break the illegal siege of Gaza. On Instagram we were able to grow the page from 0 to 56k followers. Now we will post our content here too. It would be lovely if some of you could give a follow 🤍
- Reposted by Gabe Winter📣 Hot off the press at #ProcB! 🔍 Our study checked data/code-sharing policies in 275 eco/evo journals and compliance in Proc B (n=2,340) & Ecology Letters (n=571). Policies exist, but clarity and strictness vary, affecting reproducibility. 🔗 doi.org/10.1098/rspb...

- 🎉 Another paper out!! 🎉 In a @sortee.bsky.social led joint effort, we assessed data and code sharing in 275 Ecology & Evolution journals and the compliance rates in two journals with a mandate policy.
- Our latest #SORTEE-led paper is out now in #ProcB! We reviewed data/code-sharing policy clarity, strictness & timing across 275 EcoEvo journals We also worked with #ProcB & #EcologyLetters to assess initial compliance with sharing mandates. Huge team effort! 👉 doi.org/10.1098/rspb...
- 🎉 New paper out!! 🎉 The typically short-winged meadow grasshopper develops a long-winged dispersive morph at high rearing densities. Read more here: doi.org/10.1186/s128...

- Very excited for this series! 🚀 We’ll be collaboratively building R packages and submitting them to CRAN. This is our first hands-on session, so you have plenty of time to hop on board! 🛶
- Reposted by Gabe WinterData come in many different formats and are used in many different ways, but in many cases, a checklist like this (along with good data documentation) can help you verify if a dataset is in a usable format for most general purposes. osf.io/t8upr
- It is incredible (or incredibly sad) how we had to develop a skill of recomposing ourselves after witnessing horrendous scenes of athrocities happening in Palestine just so that we can go back to work instead of crying our eyes out for the rest of the day.
- Reposted by Gabe WinterHow can we reform science? I have some ideas. But I am not sure you’ll like them, because they don’t promise much. elevanth.org/blog/2025/07...

- 🎉New paper out @jevbio.bsky.social 🎉 We show that unpredictability in escape behavior of a grasshopper species is partly heritable and may be linked to a boldness behavioral syndrome 🦗💨 📖 Read more: doi.org/10.1093/jeb/... #BehavioralEcology #Heritability #Grasshoppers

- First version of my first #R package is out and working! 🥳 gabewinter.github.io/VarDecomp/ It has functions to: - produce and evaluate #brms models - do variance decomposition - summarize and plot results Let me know if you have some data to test it out and help improve it!
- Next week I will be talking in our "Reproducible pipelines" book club about why testing the code is essential, what unit tests are, and how you can incorporate them into your developing practices. To join, register here: www.meetup.com/rladies-colo...
