- having trouble processing the washington post news on top of all the other news of the worst people in the world gutting or degrading things that matter. I'm just so sad & angry. primarily, the journalists who've been laid off (many of whom i look up to) deserve better. but it hurts all of us.
- The Washington Post announces sweeping layoffs. Staffers say leadership has destroyed the brand. Read Amos Barshad and Siddhartha Mahanta. www.cjr.org/news/layoffs...
- We need to find a way to tell the youths about alt-weeklies so they restart them
- And before the doomers of Bluesky say the kids don't read and just scroll on their devices: remove ye the log from thine own eye
- My favorite genre of Epstein emails are powerful people emailing WITH JEFFREY EPSTEIN about how MeToo has gone too far and the woke mob must be stopped.

- Minnesota has been a heartening bit of news for those of us desperately trying to raise kindhearted, helpful kids in a time when media can make the world feel so cruel and apathetic. It doesn't have to be like this. And I am stubborn in believing most people don't want us to be like this.

- Stop what you’re doing and read this piece, which is as powerful as you’d expect from @adamserwer.bsky.social witnessing the events of last week on the ground in Minnesota. “The secret fear of the morally depraved is that virtue is actually common, and that they’re the ones who are alone.”
