THEN GET OFF HIS FUCKING WHEEL.
Some have tried to excuse this, but it is selfish, irresponsible behavior.
Jonas should have just stopped, made the guy go on w/out him. It’s how I deal with tailgating in my car, and it works.
But then I’m not a pro doing my job. The blame here is on the rider who seems to have been well aware that Jonas did not want him around.

What has happened to Matthew Brennan? Horribly out of position and not able to contest twice in a row.
Is he sick? If so, why are his teammates at the front so late in the race? Last year his timing and instincts looked elite.
Wout, Matty B, and Pidcock already on board. MVDP considering.
AND I WILL BE THERE. Always been on my top shelf of favorite races, and this could be one of the greatest fields in its history. Wow.
You there, Visma?

LETS FUCKING GO
From a mailing list. Awkward.
MSR is a curious choice for him. Even Flanders would make more sense.
TRUTH
Sorry, not feeling it. Whatever his reasons, this did not spring on him like a jack-in-the-box. He got something huge out of his time at TVL, needed to to better than this.
I am a shameless stan, but the reflexive shit takes on TVL's 2026 program are boggling.
- Jonas is "dodging"
- Wout is washed
- Matteo's schedule is wrong. Brennan's too.
- Departures/retirements = "something is wrong"
No one is above criticism, but come on.
“Dutch rider opens up about losing faith in Visma-Lease a Bike’s training methods…”(dnlbenson on Dylan Van Baarle)
Ineos and TVL have been 2 of the most dominant teams of the last 15 years. Even last year Visma finished 2nd in UCI.
If they aren’t good enough for you, the problem is you.
Wow. The era of cycling that I came into as a fan is coming to its end. Lots of big names out or soon to be, obviously a new wave coming on.
Iserbyt was not my rooting interest, but I do feel for him. Spent his whole career behind two giants, now this. Pro sports are glorious, but unforgiving.
Did not see that coming.
FUCKING FUCK.
At least he is in good spirits about it.
Van der Poel will eventually pull away, but Verstrynge is well clear of the rest of the field. Huge ride if he can hold it.
Re-upping after watching Diegem.
Not quite the epic we got in 2022 when Wout, Pidcock, and MVDP put on one of the best cx races ever, but more sign of what is to come. TDG won by shredding the sand section and (mostly) the nasty ramps coming out of hairpins. Makes hard things look easy.
Vandeputte has an athletic physique and a riding style to match.
A different style is Del Grosso, who has a little - please don't hear me overstating it - of MVDP's almost magical ease on the bike. Generates power without looking strained, and just glides through technical sections.
Wout is a legend for all the right reasons.
Wout has neither the technical polish nor the diesel power of old to win (for now). He doesn’t seem too troubled about it, so I won’t be either.
Today was a great race, lots more to come.
