- Reposted by Renzo MancusoKicking off #CMNday2025 with technology deep dives and updates from the Rademakers and @mancusorenzo.bsky.social labs, by Elise Coopman and Maxim van Hoek. 🚀 @vibtechnologies.bsky.social @viblifesciences.bsky.social
- Proud of this collaboration with Philip Van Damme’s team: we show that microglia and astrocytes behave differently in sporadic vs. C9orf72 ALS across human tissue, iPSC-derived cells and in vivo xenografts. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
- If the biology diverges, our treatments should too. Time to think about stratified immunomodulation in ALS. Grateful to the team, and especially Pegah Masrori, @baukje-bij.bsky.social @c9laura72.bsky.social , for leading the project, our partners, and the donors/families who made this work possible.
- Also big thanks to all the funding agencies that support our lab! @erc.europa.eu @fwovlaanderen.bsky.social @brightfocus.bsky.social @alzassociation.bsky.social
- Excited to share this new interview with Rosa Rademakers and myself, reflecting on the direction we're taking together with all our colleagues at the VIB-UAntwerp Center for Molecular Neurology. blog.vib.be/our-neurogen...
- We’re evolving CMN along two intersecting axes, neurogenetics and neuroimmunology, and backing that vision with strategic investments in talent, technology, and collaboration.
- For me, it’s especially rewarding to see neuroimmunology gaining momentum—not as a silo, but as an integral part of how we tackle complex brain diseases. We’re building the infrastructure and community to ask deeper, more functional questions, and we’re doing it together as a team.
- This weekend, our teams @cmn-vib.bsky.social & our amazing lab are trading lab coats for running shoes! We're hitting the pavement to raise funds for Alzheimer's research — a cause close to our hearts and minds. Every step we take brings us closer to a cure. StopAlzheimer
- I am so excited to share our review on microglial heterogeneity @natureneuro.bsky.social! It was a fantastic effort by the lab, led by @c9laura72.bsky.social and Alma Mohebiany. We provide a critical view on the plethora of microglial cell states in health and disease. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
- We also offer to you a very simple and user friendly tool that will help you with your next microglial cell state annotation adventure! mancusolab.bioinf.be/microglia/in....
- Big thanks to everyone involved @nicola-fattorelli.bsky.social, @jypremer.bsky.social , @baukje-bij.bsky.social, @paulapolanco.bsky.social and @piewall.bsky.social.
- Also big thanks to @natureneuro.bsky.social for letting us share our views and thoughts with the community. If you want to contribute to the web tool please reach out to us @viblifesciences.bsky.social, @cmn-vib.bsky.social and @uantwerpen.be
- Reposted by Renzo MancusoBrand new review by the @mancusorenzo.bsky.social lab on microglial heterogeneity: Laura Fumagalli et al. dive into transcriptional states across development, disease, sex & CNS regions—plus annotation tools. Out now in Nature Neuroscience: 📄 nature.com/articles/s41593-025…
- Reposted by Renzo MancusoLaura Fumagalli (@mancusorenzo.bsky.sociallab) was recently awarded a pilot grant from Stichting Alzheimer Onderzoek. 🙌 This grant will support her research on the role of microglia in ALS and FTD. mancusolab.sites.vib.be/en/news#/news/the-o…
