- Every video of this game showcases a pixel art technique that’s generally seen as too much trouble for what it’s worth. The results pay off - the game looks great - but it also leaves every other pixel artist sweating with fear.

- I'm going to give Small Saga a little discount for AGDQ, but if you would prefer to play it on the Switch and want to know how long you'll have to wait until that version is out, the answer is "about 3 months". 🐀
- Oh sweet, I wonder if any cool games are running on Tuesday at 12:02pm GMT / 7:02am EST.
- Happy 100 year anniversary to the gal pals in this video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpDm...
- If you asked a nation of games developers whether it's rude to "assume you understand what the player wants more than the player does", you would spark a civil war.

- If you yearn for this formula, you should consider trying Ruina: Fairy Tale of the Forgotten Ruins. It's the distilled essence of investigate-the-town, brave-the-dungeon, repeat.
- The games I played this year (or at least, the ones I catalogued). I don't have a favourite, but I found Ruina, NGE: Shito Ikusei, Consume Me, Unfair Flips, and Formless Star all memorable for different reasons.
- Please. The Father of Indie Gaming was my father. Call me Indie Gaming.
- Maybe the first Pokemon region being called "Kanto" (an actual region) lent it a sense of groundedness that the later entries eschewed. Like, we can see that Unova is a fantastical take on New York, but because it's not called "New York" we don't feel pushed to grapple with any political commentary.
- Going to make a game where the difficulty options don't affect the gameplay, only the nuance of the NPC dialog. Hardcore gamers brag about beating "Finnegans Must Wake" mode.
- Feels weird to compare The Amazing Digital Circus and Pluribus, but I feel like they both do a great job of tapping into modern horrors and emotions, particularly with their latest episodes. Feelings of no control, infringed body autonomy, endless falseness, social isolation etc.
- Unbeatable is nearly out? Heh. If you’re as bad at games as I am then every game is Unbeatable.

- I’m always saying these things.
- I like the pixel art of the Wonderswan Neon Genesis Evangelion game. The vast majority of the screen time is spent looking at “90’s cool” interfaces and liminal spaces, which is honestly a good representation of the series.
- Oh, yeah, NPC writing is the best. You can do worldbuilding, add a gameplay tip, or just invent a memorable weirdo. Or a whole city of weirdos. It's great.

- I've been following this for a while. It looks like a super polished and thoughtful game in the vein of Ace Attorney or Famicom Detective Club. Even the UI has that satisfying DS adventure game feeling.
- I'll be at AdventureX tomorrow morning, so feel free to message if you're a developer who wants to meet and chat about anything.
- ✅ You can play as a rat.

- I'm sure some of my followers would be interested in this. Ratto 1800. Sim Squeaky. Uh... Europaca Univolesalis.
- Made a batch of hummus so big it broke my blender, but I’m not even mad because I have 2 kilos of hummus.

- The ending to Consume Me is interesting for a few reasons, but I like how [spoilers] as an autobiographical work that catches up to the present, the game becomes a document of its own creation. Dev stuff. Awkward pitch meetings. “It’ll be out soon, mom.” You play a little of Consume Me’s Consume Me.
- Ooh, the Gnosia anime has started. Super curious about this because I love the original game for its narrative design - its story perfectly complemented the game mechanics. It must be a challenge to adapt to a different medium.
