- I am fetching reads from cram files in Rust, using rust-htslib and a rayon thread pool. It surprises me that memory use is flat up to 5 threads, but then takes off linearly. Does anyone have a clue what is going on? @robp.bsky.social @johanneskoester.bsky.social Code: github.com/wdecoster/in...

- My current favorite strategy for using LLMs to code (specifically, GitHub Copilot agent mode) is to write a paragraph or more of instructions, and finish with "Do not start writing any code yet. First, tell me all the questions you still have about this plan".
- It will generate some questions about the implementation, which it would usually try to solve on its own (get creative), and you want to avoid that. I answer the questions, and off it goes, crafting exactly what I had in mind.
