- Never miss a chance to list ten fave westerns Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (1973) My Darling Clementine (1946) Will Penny (1957) The Hired Hand (1971) The Shooting (1966) Shane (1953) The Wild Bunch (1969) Winchester ‘73 (1950) Unforgiven (1992) The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962)
- One leaps instantly to mind. Goodbye to All That by Robert Graves. One of the most upsetting, but funniest books I've ever read. Clearly written by someone immensely damaged, and you can see him getting damaged. It took a toff to write this evisceration of the English class system
- What 5 Non-Fiction books have made the most lasting impression on you? For me probably Religion and the Decline of Magic (1971), Thomas The Germans (1989), Elias Somebody’s Husband Somebody’s Son (1984), Burn Excellent Cadavers (1995), Stille King Leopold's Ghost (1998), Hochschild #booksky

- Watched All the Devils are Here (2005) on the plane. Brit gangster flick that aims to be uncanny in an Ambrose Bearce sort of way, but doesn't really work. Lots of th-fronting and people saying things like "You're reap what you sow" and "Every man has his price"
- Munich airport. I left a nice wool flat cap here two years ago, wonder if they've got it

- Reposted by Paul C. DobbsAd for Jean Gabin and Ida Lupino in “Moontide” — June 4, 1942 “They say Jean Gabin can do more with one glance than many stars can do with 10 pages of script!” “Ida Lupino gives a matchless dramatic performance as the girl who tried to run away from life.”

- Fascinating bit of time capsule TV. You can see Britain changing in real time. I was genuinely on my nerves wondering what the verdict would be youtu.be/1I0o5ZwRiaY?...
- Jimmy and Chrissie. Talk of the town. It doesn’t matter how much time goes by, I just want to cry when I think of these two youtu.be/-Kdt1IARNkI?...

- All the old Lee and Herring Fist of Fun shows are on YT. Golden. "Einstein's theory of relativity states that time moves more slowly if you spend it with your relatives"
- #FilmSky, a quick question; what is the pettiest thing you have had to be annoyed at a film? I ask because I am watching The Gift from 2000, and the main character does divination with Zener Cards, which are not the same thing as Tarot at all. Why go for a more boring looking option?
- Cruel Train (1996) is La bête humaine against the dread & tension of the London Blitz, which is a bit like putting Tabasco sauce on a vindaloo. I can’t think of a story less in need of added heat. It’s also written & shot to squeeze out every last drop of hurt and it stays at that pitch for 100 mins
- I broke my finger hopping onto a pair of underpants. They had to pin the bones together, was honestly not sure I'd ever play guitar again
