Epstein wanted to be perceived as a brilliant guy who found the smartest scientists and funded them. To date, I’ve only found one woman in academia with close ties.

We also know (beyond doubt) that the overwhelming majority were civilians. Common sense, a bit of knowledge+analytical skills, and not being racist, get you there.
