- Reposted by Lundy Bird ObservatoryA first for Lundy no-less! 👀#birdingUK
- Reposted by Lundy Bird ObservatoryStoked to find a Dusky Warbler in the field on census @lundybirds.bsky.social I followed it up the valley after being drawn to a percussive tacking like call that wasn't a Blackcap in the overgrown Millcombe Pond. It then quickly ended up in a net! @birdguides.bsky.social @rarebirder.bsky.social
- Reposted by Lundy Bird ObservatoryGrey-Cheeked Thrush trapped and ringed @lundybirds.bsky.social this morning. @birdguides.bsky.social @rarebirder.bsky.social

- 🚨 New species for Lundy?! To our amazement, we were recently sent a photo of a Common Lizard photographed on gorse near Rocket Pole back on 4 August 2024(!). How did this arrive on the island? One to keep an eye out for on Lundy over the warmer months ahead...
- Lundy was herp-free until recently. The Slow-worm arrival has been recounted by A Rowland (Discovering Lundy, Dec 2012). The occurrence of a Common Toad in May '23 triggered a deep dive into exotic species (LFS Annual Report, 2023), unearthing 3 unsubstantiated Common Lizard records from 1958 & 2000
- Our cliff-nesting seabirds are starting to make sporadic appearances to breeding ledges with spring just around the corner 👀 youtu.be/BNomKISZ6Kw?...
- Nice start to the birding year on Lundy Bird Obs. 7th island record of Red-necked Grebe (22-23 Jan) and 11th island record of Barn Owl (6 Jan). Catchup on all the latest island sightings 👇 www.lundybirdobs.org.uk

- One of two Snow Bunting digiscoped along the Beach Road this afternoon
- Reposted by Lundy Bird Observatory3/3 A Barnacle Goose flew in over the Cory's seawatchers on 17th, followed in short order by a Gt White Egret, and I stumbled on an Ortolan Bunting creeping in the tussocks nearby. Something of a Lundy 'purple patch', with the goose & egret being scarcer than the bunting in island terms! #UKbirding
- Reposted by Lundy Bird Observatory2/3 The highlight was an unprecedented influx of feeding Cory's Shearwaters on 17th & 18th, presumanly the outer edge of larger numbers in the Celtic Sea/SW approaches. The first occurrence of multiple Cory's in Lundy waters and maybe a sign of things to come as seas warm...
- Reposted by Lundy Bird Observatory1/3 Recently back from @lundybirds.bsky.social An excellent trip with a good range of scarcities, incl. the long-staying Greater Short-toed Lark, Yellow-browed Warblers most days, and an elusive Wryneck. Rather low numbers of 'common' migrants but enough to keep multiple Merlins well fed. #UKBirding

- Black Redstart trapped and ringed last night
