- Delighted that a #trumpetfish has made the 🌟cover🌟 of @royalsocietypublishing.org journal #ProceedingsB. Read about how these predatory #fish hide against similarly coloured non-threatening species to #camouflage on the move in our #OpenAccess article: doi.org/10.1098/rspb... #behaviour #marine
- Detailed observations showed colour polymorphic trumpetfish selectively ‘shadow’ fishes of similar colour to them. Presentation of 3D models showed that prey damselfish exhibited reduced anti-predator responses towards trumpetfish paired with a similarly coloured species cf. a dissimilar one.

- 📢NEW paper: Out today in #BehavioralEcology is the latest result of dedicated #fieldwork by brilliant #PhD student #YouZhou from @biologyanu.bsky.social To Flee or Wait and See? Response of Incubating White-browed Scrubwrens to Information about Danger #birds #bioacoustics doi.org/10.1093/behe...
- Work done with #RobertMagrath. #Playback #experiment to test how incubating females respond to aerial alarm calls, mobbing alarm calls and the footstep sounds of a nest predator. Females rarely fled but looked around more actively after mobbing calls. #danger #vocalisations #nests #antipredator
