I have a de-escalation training tonight and I'm honestly curious how the hell we de-escalate as observers when the people we're watching are committed to escalating every situation
happening this morning in Minneapolis -- ICE agents drawing guns on observers. I reiterate again that it is only a matter of time before DHS kills more innocent people in Minnesota. Congress needs to shut this shit down right now.
Honestly, you don't. De-escalation only works if both sides risk consequences from escalation. Not only does ICE not face consequences for it, we've seen video of their leadership actively encouraging and supporting it.

And don't get me wrong, that's still a crapshoot in terms of whether they would actually intervene and stop illegal stuff like this, but it's at least some chance of someone with equal authority checking them.
