- Trump says ICE agents will use Anton Chigurh's captive bolt pistol to murder legal observers instead of shooting them 9 times. Journalists praise this "softer touch" to summary executions.
- Federal agents fucking executed two people in the streets and *more* people started fighting back in response. Do people really think a group of chuds at polling stations will deter people from voting? Or prevent them from helping others vote?
- When people read things like this they should think of the *how*. There are literally tens of thousands of polling places across the U.S. They truly do not have the numbers to do mass voter intimidation. And if you are concerned, become a poll worker or find a group that will escort people to vote.
- Something driving me a little mad at the moment is that Trump's call to nationalize elections is only being covered through the lens of "Can he actually do that?" (NO) and not through the lens of a deeply popular authoritarian grasping at straws to try and maintain power.
- This is a great read. Something I appreciate here is the focus on the various events that made up the Holocaust. So much of Holocaust history has been flattened to death camps and gas chambers, but there are many elements that have resonance today.

- ICE agents don't wear masks because they're scared for their safety. They wear masks because they know if they can be identified they risk being shunned and shamed. ICE agents may be evil assholes, but just like other humans they want to avoid social disapproval and humiliation.
- If accessibility disappears after a snowstorm then there was never really accessibility to begin with. Winter reveals so much about who our cities prioritize.
- This is not at all funny, but I can't help but laugh at the thought of Mike Johnson standing up in the Capitol and saying, "We had an election? Really? Haven't heard a thing."
- Every story I read about the revocation of TPS for Haitians makes me shake with rage. I am no longer surprised at the cruelty of this regime, but it is deeply shameful that our country is doing this. This is simply ethnic cleansing.
- I should add that revoking TPS for Haitians (and others) is another clear sign that none of this is about "immigration enforcement." As stated above, this is an attempt at carrying out ethnic cleansing. And it should be reported as such.
