- Reposted by Clara Fernandez-VaraThis is brilliant and timely but also interesting. The play 'Sir Thomas Moore' was actually by Anthony Munday and Henry Chettle but was later revised by other writers, including this bravura section attributed (with some evidence) to Shakespeare. An early example of script doctoring.
- Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again. #Pinks #ProudBlue

- Reposted by Clara Fernandez-VaraI've been commissioned to write a piece about games based on real places that changed peoples' perception of that place or had some kind of local impact - are you a dev who made a game like this? Or are you a player who has a story about a game that inspired you to visit somewhere? Let me know!

- YES YES YES. This is also why we should talk about players rather than consumers in game dev. We need to change the discourse so that we can start thinking about new sustainable ways of being a game creator.

- Yesterday I did some last minute Christmas shopping, and I was reminded how shop aisles in the US are also classified in reductionistic, gendered sections. If you want to buy something that doesn't fit gender stereotypes or find a gift for an LGBTQ friend, there's nothing or you have to pay extra.

- Reposted by Clara Fernandez-VaraI’ve been in game dev for 26 years and I can’t remember any other time where a specific tech was being insistently and persistently pushed on devs as a group in the public sphere. Why would it? Cui bono? Why would any given dev have an interest in other devs using tech they don’t have a stake in?
- This is a symptom of how broken academia is. The goal is to keep publishing papers nobody reads, at a pace that can interfere with rigorous work. Scientific papers equate volume of publication with quality, and now all academics fields are trapped in a rat race of poor contributions to their field.
