- reminds me of how ppl got this idea that stages of comic book pipeline involving multiple ppl are like… natural stages of making a drawing that they should replicate when working on their own (and im not talking about when they're practicing to perform in those specific roles professionally)
- WAIT they canceled the walking with dinosaurs stage show??? ive seen it in 2019 when it came to my city and i didnt know it was wrapping up!! i counted on a repeat somewhen in my lifetime!

View full threadoh yeah, im aware the walking with spinoffs exist! but if there were other disnosaur ones then i totally could've seen any of them. everyone just always talks about walking as the one! but i dont have any specific memories of a scene or something so ill never know!
- fun fact is i was not a dinosaur child. like i dont think i could name any dinosaurs until i grew into a dinosaur adult lol
- actually the only things ive seen of either of the series must've been fragments on tv when i was a kid. i have no proof but it's iconic and if there actually (?) is no comparable "wildlife doc" dinosaur programs then i mustve seen at least fragments as a child
- i only thought now to check them out for a credible pop-sci-communication about what we know about dinosaurs in motion and that's how i learned the live show is done

- i really hope they bring it back at some point with script and puppets and set updated with contemporary scientific knowledge. i read they were doing it over the years incrementally but you cant really reset whatever when you're playing shows all the time
- i hope the puppets are sitting somewhere safe and waiting for a revival

- i adore this! it's like the dude never seen even a fraction of an episode of Star Trek and just did a YCH commission with Star Trek characters; magnificent! funnily enough the one factual bit of this is Sulu with a revolver (then again, missing his gun gaiety)

- Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake season 2 has finished airing over the holidays; I still can't believe the honour that met me in illustrating the episode 1's cold open. Always grateful to the team for inviting me (based on the storyboards by @krismukai.bsky.social)

- HA! good art direction from your son! this one's so old i don't remember if ever thought about tennis net being white, while painting. the important part is there being a black line-drawing where it sits also lego lattice fence is such a magnificent piece!! true system part

- Yes, not fully, kinda!!! i've seen a number of his paintings before, and i bet i've been influenced by them; actually am certain of it because his "City Limits" (1969) is wedged in my brain and i echo it all the time
- but also i've never actually like… viewed his body of work intentionally and jointly and i really oughta. so thank you for pointing me in the direction of his!!

- i wish i could share the greatest reference i ever gotten from a commissioner but i dont want to without their permission and im not in contact with them; it was basically a forest of squiggly ballpoint lines, in an aspect ratio different than one desired, accompanied by a very detailed description
- it was such a wonderful job and getting to translate the sketch was a greatest pleasure. if they were to present me with an ai image instead it would be a truly soulsucking proposition. preaching to the choir but trust artists to *create*, for gods sake
- i wish i could share that sketch one day because it's my personal treasure
- i intend to add an rss feed later on. ill never be a blogger bc have no way with words but i can use it for whatever im using bluesky for: "here's a new picture" and the like
- im quite pessimistic about the internet's continued role as a tool for discovery and a living ecosystem so im glad i got my own place settled down just in time
