i wish i could share the greatest reference i ever gotten from a commissioner but i dont want to without their permission and im not in contact with them; it was basically a forest of squiggly ballpoint lines, in an aspect ratio different than one desired, accompanied by a very detailed description
it was such a wonderful job and getting to translate the sketch was a greatest pleasure. if they were to present me with an ai image instead it would be a truly soulsucking proposition.
preaching to the choir but trust artists to *create*, for gods sake
I really appreciate when artists talk about this publicly!! As an AD I have so much more strength behind my request to publishers when I ask them to stop using AI references if I can say "this is costing us artists"
