- Metrolinx says refunds will be issued to impacted passengers after a train derailment caused delays and reduced service on several GO lines Monday and into Tuesday. #GOTransit #Metrolinx nowtoronto.com/news/metroli...
- The TTC brand is being diluted. Metrolinx runs parts of the higher-order system, and soon riders could see both styles on one line. Consistency is key. A Toronto Transit store could work, but only after we define what Toronto Transit actually is. #TTC #Metrolinx www.torontotoday.ca/local/transp...
- Interesting to see the Midtown considered beyond a GO service. Trade-off: no new line to the east, increasingly needed toward Seaton. Likely tied to Alto’s T.O. plans. Still, corridor overdue for passenger service amid development (Junction, Galleria, etc.) #Metrolinx urbantoronto.ca/news/2026/01...
- Don’t fund VIVA projects until it hits 15‑min service 05:00‑00:00. Also, upgrade one Toronto streetcar line per year to full LRT—stop spacing, level boarding, signal priority, no parking. In ~10 yrs, we’d have a real downtown transit network to be proud of. #Metrolinx urbantoronto.ca/news/2026/01...
- Surprised Bolton + Midtown barely get a mention even though they appear on the ‘fantasy’ maps and have been suggested by GO itself. Infill stations won’t slow service—other mature regions run patterns serving different stations on different trips just fine. #Metrolinx urbantoronto.ca/news/2026/01...
- The political focus on York makes Wonderland plausible and it’d free up land currently used for parking. L4 could push past Shep. W and arc southwest through YZD lands, even serving a future stadium site, while finally giving the Keele/401 provincial complex proper higher-order transit. #Metrolinx
- In this region we’ve allowed colourful lines on a map to be mistaken for truly fast, reliable transit — but it doesn’t have to be that way. We can and should prioritize speed, reliability, and meaningful service over charts that look good on paper. #Metrolinx nextmetro.substack.com/p/another-af...
