- You can now walk in Source 2 Viewer. Full release notes: github.com/ValveResourc...
- We've been slowly refactoring the S2V renderer to be self contained and now it's reached a point where it lives a separate package (and published to nuget). This opens the road to use the renderer for things like automating screenshots or implementing other viewers on top.
- modern multiplayer games start sucking as soon as people start going for metas which ruins any fun. for example everyone now runs trigger nades in arc raiders, which can kill an entire squad in less than a second. devs already confirmed a nerf is coming, but they took their sweet time
- Steam(DB) has so many states a game can be in, a discord style tri-state toggles seemed like a good idea for filtering.
- Reposted by Pavel DjundikSteamDB has a new experimental filter on the sales page. Highlight rarer new historical lows where either: - Previous low was 1.5+ years ago, OR - 50%+ price drop from previous low
- Next Source 2 Viewer update will be lovely
- There's always a person that figure out how to fix a bug in winforms two decades ago (and the bug is still not fixed two decades later...) www.codeproject.com/articles/Add...
- source 2 viewer had a glow up
- Reposted by Pavel DjundikOver 19,000 games have released on Steam in 2025. Almost half of them have fewer than ten reviews.
- Steam now warns if an item in your cart can be purchased cheaper as part of a bundle.
- We've been working on making the loading and rendering threaded in Source 2 Viewer, as well as freshened up theme. It's a surprising amount of refactoring to make OpenGL load and render in a thread and sync up with UI controls. And styling winforms is really hell on earth.
- Very cool! They can't open source the C++ parts as Source 2 is obviously Valve's code.
- Valve added a button to report chat messages in Steam, and in less than a week, @steamdb.info's bot account got locked. Very cool.
- X is where the news happen, except when cloudflare goes offline. Why isn't it hosted in space yet?
- hl3 got announced but no one could see it because cloudflare is down
- mainstream half-life 3 copium overdose is back on the menu it seems like
- I've collected a bunch of information about the new @steampowered.com hardware (from various media; credited) and summarized it in the updated blog post: steamdb.info/blog/steam-h...
- Reposted by Pavel DjundikValve has announced three new hardware products expanding the Steam Hardware family, all scheduled to launch in early 2026. Read more here: steamdb.info/blog/steam-hardware…
- Reposted by Pavel DjundikSteam Frame, Steam Controller, Steam Machine announcement is expected soon, here's a first look!
- It's rather ironic that I haven't been getting ads on twitch for months (because no one buys ads here), and now all of a sudden they keep repeating an ad for twitch turbo promoting ad free viewing.
- the new steam controller 2 (triton) icon is just that, an icon. don't worry it has a dpad, two sticks, and more buttons.
- It's currently not possible to view issues in the @github.com mobile app because they can't handle their own deprecations. Embarrassing.
- Valve confirms Ricochet 2 🫨 * This is basically a response to mod 'Team Fortress 2 Classic' steamcommunity.com/games/354506...
- @davidanson.bsky.social hey i hit your blog and some of the code blocks seem unreadable in dark theme here dlaa.me/blog/post/99...
- You can now browse anyone's owned games or wishlist on steamdb with all the filters. It was partially possible before by specifying the accountid in the url, but now it's more obvious, and you can get to it from the calculator.
- Reposted by Pavel DjundikToo many games www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...
- I've got @cloudflare.social to sponsor Workers for steamstat.us, it's pretty cool. The status json is stored in the KV, and I've now added SSR support, which means page load is faster and you can see the status without JS (rendering the canvas graphs still requires js though).
- Stability of Debian let me down a little bit today, I've updated @steamdb.info to trixie and that went smoothly, but then DNS queries started failing after a few hours. Caused by resolved bug introduced in June: github.com/systemd/syst... Usually debian packages are way behind.
- I'm glad dhh is publicly talking about the overall complexity of modern development. steamdb deploys from a git commit in under 2 seconds, it's really invaluable.
