- In his latest book, Marcello Di Cintio shows readers a side of Canada unbeknownst to many, if not most Canadians. Recently, we sat down to chat about the importance of telling the complex stories of migrant workers. An excerpt of our convo is in my latest piece for @thetyee.ca’s Weekender.

- Parenting books are in no shortage. We can easily learn how to support our children’s development, set reasonable expectations. Books that tackle how to stay healthy as we age, and delay the symptoms of old age also abound. Do books about aging framed as a terminal condition even exist, though?
- I’m still looking, yo!
- punctuation matters.
- The only reason i ever set foot on 17th Ave these days is the Ship. I used to patronize other businesses too, some have moved, others are gone for good. If this project proceeds as is, and the Ship sinks, the area’s future as an entertainment hub could be jeopardized.
- Calgary folks! I’m looking to interview someone who’s bought a place in the city’s east (green area in map below) over the last 12 months. If this is you or someone you know, hit me up via dm for further deets. TIA.
- what else needs to happen south of the border to prompt a travel advisory? travel.gc.ca/destinations...
- As the world as we know It seems to be going to hell in a hand basket, i think we should embrace silliness. Can i interest you in breaking the longest conga line record?
- Has anyone asked DT whether he knows he’s not currently participating in a reality show?
- One could argue that the Ship & Anchor is, in fact, an important amenity, but surely community builders know what’s best for the Beltline.
- Don’t tell anyone, but i’m actually looking forward to Chinook Blast this year. newsroom.calgary.ca/calgarys-abo...
- Look at what i found! Do other Alberta cities have their own board game?
- We can’t fix what we don’t measure.
- The story tells itself.
- Update: just drove by and the bus stop in question was getting cleared! 🙌
- Anyway, here‘s a win for the city!
- I reported this to 311 last night. Of course, my request is now closed, as the city waits for the next Chinook to do its magic.
- New from me! Unlike other established areas, Calgary’s Marda Loop has evolved organically. While this has created challenges for some, Marda Loop has become one of the city’s most desirable districts, as a growing variety of housing options and amenities increasingly attract young families.
- I hope folks with a disability in my neighbourhood don’t need to take the bus this winter.

- A tale of two neighbours.
- War is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength.
- Welcoming the new year in the very city i became aware that being/working as an architect was not really my thing feels kind of ominous.
- Last day in Guadalajara.
- These three buildings are not too far from each other. Is a lack of contextual fit really such a big issue? Hot take: the contextual city is a boring one.
- [street name] brought to you by [corporation]
- Guadalajara moderne. (sorry but i know nothing about the buildings, i just liked them.)
- Guadalajara: a city that loves trees.
- We accept the abuse we think we deserve. Thus, i’m gonna start blocking not people i disagree with, but those who use their reach to gang up on others.
