- Discovered a potential debug menu in Phantom 2040 (SNES). Enable code PAR 7E1B21=30 during the ending and this will appear. It doesn't seem to do anything, but it might warrant more investigation by someone more knowledgeable.
- Reposted by VGMuseum (ReyVGM)My co-author Dr. Megan Condis and I gathered nearly 3,000 print ads from the console wars era to analyze whether the popular narrative that "Sega was for rad teens and Nintendo was for babies" actually holds up. The results paint a slightly more nuanced picture. Read about it on @aftermath.site!

- Similarly to Capcom's Yashichi (an item hiding in a ton of their games), Tecmo's early games also had a similar hidden icon in the form of Cleopatra's Mask. So far I know of its location in the following games: Star Force Mighty Bomb Jack Super Star Force Solomon's Key
- Did you know there's another NES game similar to The Guardian Legend? Check out Tecmo's 1986s Super Star Force. A non-linear time-traveling shoot'em up with stores and dungeon exploration. It only came out in Japan, but there's a translation patch for it.
- The ending in the Japanese version of Castlevania 2 shows this secret message if you finish the game in 69 naughty days. It's nothing major, but a nice Easter Egg.
- Did you know there's a second 1942 (Arcade) version by Capcom where the ending implies the pilot just imagined the whole thing?
- Ending for Wing Commander (SNES) www.vgmuseum.com/end/snes/b/w... This is probably the only place online where you can see every ending variation this game has. Most places only focus on showing the best ending, and not the ones where you fail the last mission or your wingman dies.
- "That guy freaking out" "ₒₕ ᵧₑₐₕ" "That's Bang." "I know" "ₒₕ ᵧₑₐₕ" "You know?" "ₒₕ ᵧₑₐₐₐₕᴉ" "Oh no..." The many faces of Clash at Demonhead!

- Reposted by VGMuseum (ReyVGM)I've posted a rip of the final issue of Famimaga Video, a bimonthly VHS “magazine” published from 1988-90. I've now posted the entire series! Tons of interesting content in these tapes, including segments hosted by the creator of Pokemon: Video Issue 12 [July 1990] VHS Rip youtu.be/TBZQazoXi2o
- I want someone's right hand to come off.
- Resident Evil Requiem, aside from being packed with action and fear, is now also funny, something the series has never (at least intentionally) achieved before. Our final preview: t.co/o4zM6qIlvf

- Finally played Star Fox 2. It's too bad that it never came out when it was supposed to, and even worse (in my opinion) that it wasn't on-rails like the first one. It's still a good game, though, and it's fucking gorgeous.
- Sick Burn (Andross, dictator wannabe, victim of decency and democracy, Star Fox 2)

- Yoshi holding a Super Scope in the Mario Galaxy movie is in reference to 1993's Yoshi's Safari, a game where you use the Super Scope to shoot at Bowser's law-abiding patriotic underlings.
- Corporate needs you to find the differences between Nick Bruiser and George Foreman.
- I love the dragging sound Hoy Quarlow makes when you knock him down via a body punch. He's the only character that does that, so it must have been intentional on the part of the devs.

- Reposted by VGMuseum (ReyVGM)This video shows how we developed games for the NES at Software Creations. PC-ED was our in-house IDE that we used to edit/build/deploy/debug our game code on a PC. This demonstration shows me loading up the 6502 source code for NES Wolverine - May 1991. Object code deployed to NES target dev kit.
