- Reposted by Jena DoomThese are the curves for non-competitive renewal grants. The curve for fiscal year 2026 is still lagging behind, in part because of the government shutdown and in part because of what appears to be a somewhat lower rate of grant issuance. 2/4

- Reposted by Jena DoomICE is running a “conveyor belt” of illegally detained Minnesota families. Agents are arresting entire families with legal status and immediately shipping them off to Texas to deny them legal representation and avoid the federal courts in Minnesota. The cruelty is endless.

- Reposted by Jena DoomA newborn in Minneapolis hadn’t eaten for a day and a half. ICE agents took her mother when she went to work, trying to make money for diapers. Her 16-year-old and Bri, a local mother of two, saved that baby's life. @chabeli.bsky.social tells their story
- Reposted by Jena DoomCourt ordered that Congress personnel have the right to visit ICE facilities unannounced and can’t be stopped. I expect every dem to be going to facilities in their states now and every day and reporting on conditions.
- Reposted by Jena DoomYesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning. Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

- Reposted by Jena DoomIt will take generations for the US to rectify this, if it ever does. Scientific research is an ecosystem, made from connections created during study, collaborations, institutional memory. You can't hollow it out like this and hope to repair it. The loss is more than the sum of its parts.

- Reposted by Jena DoomAs a someone with a 33 year NIH-funded lab whose grant is supposed to be reviewed this week, shut NIH down if that is what's needed to end ICE terrorism. Innocent lives are more important 🧪

- Reposted by Jena DoomReal talk from Minnesota: "I feel like we're performing CPR on what may already be a corpse: the Constitution" Prove this wrong, fellow Americans, please. MN can stand up, protect each other, witness & alert you. But we alone can't control the feds. This is a USA issue.
- Reposted by Jena DoomAlex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him. White. Hot. Rage.
- Reposted by Jena DoomICE just shot another one of my neighbors. They had the person on the ground, being beaten by several agents, and then fired multiple shots. In front of the donut shop where we like to get donuts for our kids.
- Reposted by Jena DoomI just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening. The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.

- Minnesotans fucking rock. I did grad school at UMN. I remember my years there fondly and even married a Minnesotan by the end. 😊 These are some of the toughest people and best neighbors and friends. So many of us are standing with MN from afar. I’m so proud of their resistance.
- Reposted by Jena DoomWe've made this Sinister Minnesotans shirt from our Stan Kelly comic this week. Net proceeds from this shirt will be donated to local organizations doing their part to keep Minnesotans safe and send ICE agents home to ruin their own fucking communities. - Reposted by Jena DoomFor @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention. The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.

- Reposted by Jena DoomLikely more important than training or moral character is incentives. If agents believe they will lose their jobs or face criminal prosecution for harming civilians, they'll be cautious in the use of force. If they believe they are above the law their morality or training won't matter much.
