- The Canton Express in Glasgow. Walking distance from my flat, open until 5am most nights, huge amount of amazing food for not much money. I lived off their chicken in black bean sauce and crispy pork with gravy for years. Heartbroken when I went there one night and it had closed with no warning
- If anything is certain about hungry people in Glasgow late at night it’s that they’ll go into anywhere open and try to buy chips. Most other places would have added them to the menu but the Canton just laminated a sign to the counter that said WE DO NOT SELL CHIPS so the staff could point to it

An illustrated poster of famous British hauntings came free with the paper, and in the following weeks they published quiz questions relating to the various spooky happenings. (1/X)

- Many good things about this book, including that if you say the title aloud it sounds like Hi-Ex Bastards, which would be an great name for a Judge Dredd story
- Reading a book from the 1970s where the main character has an extremely medically inaccurate stroke. I’d write to the author to complain but sadly he died in 1994 (not of a stroke)
- Discourage medical pedants from writing to you about your novel by having the main character say "I’m having a modified stroke"

- Superman (2025) was a fine movie but wouldve been way better if at the beginning Superman turned to the camera & said "i no longer look like Henry Cavill" & then specified the exact plot reasons why
