- Train friends: I’m traveling with my wife and 6 year old from the East Bay to Portland this summer. We’re thinking of taking Amtrak at least one way. We all love riding trains but have never done an overnight trip. Can we get decent sleep in coach seats? Honest feedback would be appreciated.
- It’s coach? No. Sleep is highly overrated, you’re not taking a train to sleep but for the experience, go for it…maybe you can upgrade to a roomette closer to your departure.Feb 1, 2026 01:37
