View full threadYeah, I don’t know what androids parental controls are like, but Apples are a hot fucking mess. Can’t tell you how many hours I’ve spent trying to figure out why my kid can or cannot do something in spite of the settings I’d put in place.
- They're truly awful. Super complex to set up, and then they either just randomly stop working or simply never work at all.
- fwiw Apple's parental controls are useless even if you have only iPhones they are extremely unreliable and utterly inscrutable

- I use bilingual keyboard layouts (DE+EN and DE+ES) as I’m frequently switching at work and with friends between languages in the same apps, sometimes within a conversation. Works well for typing but speech to text? Total mess. Especially when eg at work we use English technical terms in German 🙄
- Every year the only feature I cross my fingers for is for Siri to be able to switch between English and French on the fly. And I am very upset that the new call screening feature on iOS 26 only works in your phone's primary language.
