Posts will be mostly photography, Boston sports, and tech.
I have more photos and more information on them at

- There was some nice foliage and a rushing river near the Garry Bridge, but the fog around the evergreen trees really caught my eye. #photography #landscape #fog flic.kr/p/2rV4gLu
- Tried out some ICM/panning on breaking waves by a seawall on the Firth of Forth. This was by far the slowest panning shot I have ever attempted, at 1/10 of a second, normally I'd be doing 1/100 or faster to make race cars look faster. #photography #landscape #icm flic.kr/p/2rUTNMF
- Dunnottar Castle, silhouetted against the rising sun. #photography #landscape #sunrise flic.kr/p/2rUKx6W
- Another view of the Jacobite Express, this time passing close by as it exits the Glenfinnan Viaduct. #photography #landscape #trains flic.kr/p/2rUf1hf
- This was a small waterfall, but an interesting perspective to see it almost directly from above, rushing between the two leaf strewn rocks. Seen in Glen Affric, Scotland. #photography #landscape #waterfalls flic.kr/p/2rU64eL
- The approach to Balmoral Castle had some nice colors in late October, and the trees framed it nicely. #photography #castles #scotland flic.kr/p/2rTXTEw
- They were a bit past their prime but I still enjoyed seeing this cluster of mushrooms growing in the woods. #photography #landscape #mushrooms flic.kr/p/2rTPDGd
- The famous Victoria Street in Edinburgh, caught in the brief window after the delivery vehicles cleared but before the crowds arrived in too great numbers to get a clear frame. #photography #urban #scotland flic.kr/p/2rTFub5
- The twine around my grill cover snapped in the wind. Had to go cut and tie a new one, more centered this time. Lucky the cover didn't blow away. I should upgrade to a ratchet strap or some hideous bungee cord chain.
- This bridge was originally made to let packhorses bring coffins to the graveyard. Because of this it's sometimes called the Coffin Bridge. Seen in Carrbridge Scotland. #photography #foliage #landscape flic.kr/p/2rTb3Tg
- My home internet is down today so here's a throwback to January 2013 when I saw some cool pelicans on the shores of Key Largo. #photography #wildlife #birds flic.kr/p/dLWt1t
- One more shot of this photogenic leopard, this time climbing over a branch on the way down a tree and looking at something in the distance. #photography #wildlife #cats flic.kr/p/2rSU6pn
- This sheep looked like it fancied a raid of the castle in the distance. Bonskeid House in Scotland, near Pitlochry. #photography #castles #landscape flic.kr/p/2rSKk7N
- I was in the gardens at Balmoral Castle when the rain cleared and the conditions were suddenly perfect for a rainbow. I had to hustle to get a shot lined up, but I think it turned out nicely. #photography #castle #scotland flic.kr/p/2rSB2F7
- The view looking south from Edinburgh Castle on a very cloudy morning. George Heriot's School is in the center. #photography #urban flic.kr/p/2rS5XRR
- Saw this mushroom standing on its on in some woods by a lake shore in Scotland. It was a steep area but I managed to situate myself and get a shot of its gills. #photography #landscape #mushroom flic.kr/p/2rRVKqE
- Another throwback to my brief Venice visit in 2022. This crow seemed to be guarding the way. I think we took a left to head back towards the train station. #photography #architecture #italy flic.kr/p/2rRNC5K
- Took a moment away from photographing Dunnottar Castle at sunrise to snap a shot of these grazing sheep in the nearby field, with the pink sky behind them. #photography #animals flic.kr/p/2rRy5bq
- Throwback to my brief Venice visit a couple of years ago. I had forgotten that I carried my camera that day. It was mostly cloudy/rainy but the sun peeked through briefly as we were crossing this canal. #photography #urban #architecture flic.kr/p/2rRt1YT
- Another shot of this young leopard from the Okavango Delta, standing on a branch of the second tree, lit by the sunset (which was behind me). #photography #wildlife #cats flic.kr/p/2rQZf77
- My trip to Botswana was the first time I had seen a side striped jackal. They blend in really well with the grassy terrain. This one looked well fed. #photography #wildlife #dogs flic.kr/p/2rQLk3X
- This leopard looked cozy nestled in the V of this tree with its tail hanging down, lit by the low light of the setting sun. #photography #wlidlife #cats flic.kr/p/2rQJaMH
- These two trees in Glen Affric reminded me of the twisted helix shape of DNA. There was a very narrow window to zoom in and isolate them from the surrounding forest. #photography #landscape #woodland flic.kr/p/2rQxmo2
