- I forgot to mention that people in my neighbourhood Facebook group are mobilizing against bus lanes, with the justification that *shudder* it would reduce on-street parking. So it’s important they hear from 🚎 supporters too! Please fill out the survey. survey.vancouver.ca/s3/Hastings-...
- TransLink & the City of Vancouver are consulting on changes to Hastings, including all-day bus lanes - yay! If you take the bus on Hastings (or just want fewer cars in the neighbourhood), please fill out the survey and make your voice heard:
- I'm so excited that @visionzerovancouver.ca has hired Margie as our first staff person! I believe in this org wholeheartedly and just signed up to donate monthly to help make an even bigger impact this year. Please consider doing the same!

- I guess because it was after 10pm on a Friday, my Lime scooter app gave me a sobriety test tonight. Which is nice, I guess, but wouldn’t it be cool if we made cars do that instead?

- A Christmas tragedy in one photo. The whole family spent all week working on this 1500-piece puzzle. Turns out we only had 1498 pieces.

- These are the things I hope we’ll someday look back on with the same incredulity, from most to least likely: -burning gas inside our homes -driving giant vehicles everywhere with little meaningful restriction -killing sentient animals for our taste preferences

- Lime has finally expanded its scooter share program into my neighbourhood and I’m so excited! This might be my new fave way to get around. I took an extra kid to soccer practice today, so we took an Evo there. But since it was just me on the way home, I switched to a scooter. So fun and convenient!
- Vancouver Council votes tomorrow on a motion to ban right turns on red at Vancouver’s most dangerous intersections. It would make things much safer for people walking, biking, and rolling — and the deadline to send comments or sign up to speak is in less than an hour. Send your comments now!

- Today, despite hundreds of people speaking and thousands writing in opposition, Vancouver's Mayor and his ABC majority on council passed their "zero means zero" budget, which freezes property taxes for those fortunate enough to own homes at the expense of everyone else. 1/

- Tomorrow is the only opportunity for the public to speak out on this tragedy of a budget. Over 300 people have signed up so far. If enough people speak out, the hope is that the vote will be delayed. Please sign up! You can speak over the phone; it’s easy. Deadline to sign up is today at 5pm.
- Have you cancelled your Spotify account yet? If the ICE recruitment ads aren’t enough to convince you, just a reminder that they pay their artists like shit and their CEO invests millions in AI drone weaponry. @qobuz.bsky.social is a great alternative.

- The ABC members of Vancouver Council really said "f*** them kids" today. First, they killed a motion to make it safer for kids to trick or treat in their neighbourhoods on Halloween - the most dangerous night of the year for child pedestrians - by making it easier to close streets to car traffic.
- Halloween is the most dangerous night of the year for kids walking outside: ten times higher risk of being hit by a driver. Our kids deserve better. Support @lucymaloney.bsky.social 's “Safe Streets for Trick or Treats” motion coming to Vancouver council next week. 1/2

- After years as a daily Spotify user, I finally switched to Qobuz. Between low artist pay, fake/AI “artists,” platforming hate speech, running recruitment ads for ICE, & the CEO’s AI weapons investments, I couldn’t justify staying any longer. Qobuz is great so far; consider making the switch!

- With everything else going on, the Tylenol “announcement” may seem minor. But it’s not. The Trump admin’s lies about acetaminophen are part of the same agenda: controlling women’s bodies, demonizing them, and making them suffer needlessly. A policy of intentional cruelty and othering.
