was thinking last night abt ryne staying eternally pissed at 9th (azem shard) for trying to kill katsu and i realized it would be the best thing ever if she picked up katsu's habit of just spitting at the feet of people that make her really angry instead of using insults. please
idk if i've mentioned it here before but that is a thing katsu does. ryne saw him do it once to emet at mt gulg while he was light poisoned and even though that was by all accounts a very traumatizing moment for her, i think she also subconsciously thought it was like the coolest shit ever
Feb 6, 2026 00:27i think they both have trouble with like. big emotions. and verbalizing those big emotions. katsu bc of his autism and ryne bc of past trauma re: self-expression. so anything that lets them very clearly get across feelings without needing to actually put them into words is valuable to them. hough
i think it's really good that she has another adult in her life that has similar struggles to her but actually finds ways to navigate around them, who can act as a role model, bc cred was ALSO serially awful w/ big emotions, but he never found ways around it until like, EW. katsu's much better at it
is spitting at people the BEST way for her to do this. well maybe not. but it's certainly better than the waters classic aka saying nothing and letting resentment bubble up internally until it bursts out at the most inopportune moment and hurts other people. amirite 👍
