- Kelleher: "I find a bit difficult when I hear people speaking about the players at Liverpool and performances, because I don’t think this season is even important from a football aspect for them to be honest. It’s more about them personally and mentally" www.independent.co.uk/sport/footba...
- Another day another doorknock! Lots of Labour teams out including Tribune Group MPs and other MPs. A great reception on the doors in Gorton. Remember, the only party that can beat Reform is Labour.
- It’s great to join the many fantastic volunteers in Gorton today, including this gorgeous lot! Can’t wait for our Labour candidate, Angeliki Stogia, to build on her brilliant track record of change by becoming the next MP for Gorton and Denton. 🌹
- It's important that we credit @siennarodgers.bsky.social who first scooped this back in September, not just because she did great work, but also because this shows how herd-like Westminster can be. This information was already there, if anyone cared to acknowledge it at the time!!!!!
- As first reported by top colleague @siennarodgers.bsky.social for PolHome way back in September last year!
- Saturday Night Live UK is out on the 21st March. The players are announced: Celeste Dring, Hammed Animashaun, Larry Dean, George Fouracres, Jack Shep, Ayoade Bamgboye, Al Nash, Paddy Young, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Emma Sidi.
- Pubs and wider hospitality need more support. I don’t think the trade off of kids being kept in poverty is the vote winner Reform think it is, but it confirms a lot.

- 100% agree with this and the British Election Study bot provides plenty of evidence for it - regularly spitting out actual voters with combinations of beliefs which the terminally online would regard as impossible
- oh I've written about this before! one of the big problems with people developing those assumptions is also that they become entirely unable to then engage with normies who represent like.....98% of the population, and whose beliefs are formed on a much more case-by-case basis
- My broad view is there is as big, or bigger, issue with older adults and social media as with young people - and that social media bans are just a sticking plaster that allows us to ignore the wider issue. Ultimately we need proper regulation and enforcement, not bans which allow us to ostrich

- This is good: "Air pollution selected for next committee inquiry following public pitches". Well done to @mumsforlungs.bsky.social and let's make sure we keep polluting air--so harmful to our health--up the political agenda! committees.parliament.uk/work/9336/th...

- I’m encouraged by this morning’s news that support may be on the way for our community pubs. While we’ll need to see the full details before making a judgement, it’s positive to see the government listening to local publicans and colleagues who have raised these concerns. (1/2)

- “Air pollution fell substantially as Paris restricted car traffic and made way for parks, people-streets and bike-lanes.” Better for the climate, better for health, better for livability and quality of life. Common sense. Such a no-brainer, it’s remarkable that more cities HAVEN’T done the same.

- Fleur Anderson and Simon Hogg want lorries here every morning instead of school kids on scooters, dogs and ebikes. Easy to demand such horrors be visited on us from miles away in Putney, but wild to me that *anyone* local would get behind such a dystopian vision

- That Claudia montage was superb. It shows just how incredible she is for the Traitors. #thetraitors

- Oooooooh!!! A great series, and a monumental finale — a well-deserved result! #TheTraitors
- London’s wild side is returning to life. Proud to see Barking & Dagenham approve plans to reintroduce storks and beavers 🦫 Former landfill sites at Eastbrookend Country Park and The Chase Nature Reserve will soon be home to these incredible species - a real win for nature and for every Londoner.

- As a parent, I find social media terrifying and want to keep my child off it as long as possible. However the calls for a ban for under 16s continue a long pattern of seeking to shrink young people's presence in the public realm rather than tackling other issues.
- This is an excellent thread about a potential social media ban for under 16s from my excellent colleague @lrpearson.bsky.social. The analogy with risky street environments is apt in every way, and our failed response to those is also a very big part of the problem (of screens, of anxiety, etc.).
- This is a fascist technology that fundamentally -by its core design and characteristics as a technology- serves the goals of bigots, racists and bloodthirsty white supremacists It has no role in progressive or left advocacy, no matter how much time it saves you. When you use it, you're helping them

- Plan 2 student loan borrowers are getting a raw deal. Repayments keep going up while people are already stretched to the limit. This system isn’t fair and it isn’t working - graduates deserve clarity, stability and a path that doesn’t leave them worse off.

- For the Lords to force this to fail would be an outrage. It's clear that, for some, no version of the bill would be acceptable. That and the manner of amendments and delay shows that it is not merely extra scrutiny, it is deliberately undermining the Commons decision.
- EXC - MPs and peers who backed the assisted dying bill now believe it is “near impossible” for it to pass the House of Lords in time because of procedural obstacles used by opponents. “It is our system at its absolute most dysfunctional,” one MP said. www.theguardian.com/society/2026...
- Another example of us doing what is right for Londoners: More liveable neighbourhoods Healthier communities Fewer Collisions Fewer deaths and serious injuries Change isn’t easy, but I’m willing to make tough choices to make our city safer.

- Hell of an argument for banning social media for under 16s from Kemi this. Get kids off it so we can be free to carry on destroying our democracy and tearing apart our society without them.

- To hopefully reassure Alison, certainly in Parliament there are people like me and @chionwurah.bsky.social who are calling for the evidence to be reviewed properly (including understanding gaps) and to not move to a knee jerk response. Young people's evidence must be part of this.
