- Soft wind blows across the dunes of Luskentyre, the marram flowing like liquid.
- The setting sun illuminates the surf as it breaks softly on the shore. Taransay silhouetted against a darkening sky. The softness and simplicity of the landscape in such light is so addictive. Island life, slow and timeless allows the appreciation to build and remain with you.
- Luskentyre sands sculpted and relaid by wind. Ever changing.
- The wide expanse of Luskentyre can leave you feeling small.
- Ceapabhal silhouetted and crowned at the end of Scarista beach, Harris.
- A few rocks and some sand patterns. Niosabost beach, Harris.
- Couple of images from @rspbleightonmoss.bsky.social yesterday. The Robin’s are almost jumping in your pocket for a snack. Had a close encounter with a Treecreeper (inches from me) and later in afternoon the Water Rail were rooting around the edge of the paths. Alway a good day out. #birds 🪶
- Blue hour at Wasdale
- Cold cold cold……glad there’s a flask of coffee in the car. Enjoying an evening at Wast Water

- Huey, Lewy and Dewey out for a paddle. The eyes of these Tufted Duck are so striking as they turn into the sunlight. Handsome little ducks. #birds 🪶
- “What are you pointing at me” You can’t beat the intimate connection you get with wild things. A Redwing keeping an eye on me as I move around it. #sharemondays2025
- Visit to @rspbleightonmoss.bsky.social on Saturday. Much of the reserve is closed off due to flooding but I must have spent a couple of hours in a small area between the visitor centre and Lillian’s Hide playing with the Robins, Squirrels and Redwing.
- Wellies essential kit today, either that or a raft. @rspbleightonmoss.bsky.social Some nice firsts today…..a Redwing and a Greater Scaup
- Last light on Canisp #sharemondays2025
- Looking across Loch Druim Suardalain to Suilven after sunset. The end of day one of a fantastic trip to Assynt. #sharemondays2025
- I loved the malevolent nature of the subject tree looking like it’s bullying (with the background tree as its sidekick) the small twisted sapling on the left. I don’t usually name my images but did call this one “picking on’t la’ll fella”
- Clachtoll Beach, Assynt. A wild and windy afternoon. Wet from the sky and wet from the spray. My camera is crying 😂
- All about the little birds today @cumbriawildlife.bsky.social South Walney. #birds 🪶 #ukbirds #ukbirdphotography
- Another group from @rspbleightonmoss.bsky.social #birds 🪶
- Target for yesterday’s visit to @rspbleightonmoss.bsky.social were the Bearded Reedlings. Tell you what…..they’re not early risers. Arrived at 8:00 they appeared at 9:30. Had my first sight of a Cetti’s Warbler (hear them every visit) but within minimum focus. #birds 🪶 #ukbirds #birdphotography

- Short visit this morning to @cumbriawildlife.bsky.social South Walney and was greeted in the car park by the wee fella in full song
- Dashed out to Yew Tree Tarn this afternoon to capture the autumn display. I was about half an hour too late for the best light but was happy with these two snatched from the roadside with the treetops illuminated.
- Three I-phone images from the window of our room at the Langdale Chase Hotel. Sunset and sunrise looking across Windermere p
- Had a run through to @rspbleightonmoss.bsky.social yesterday in the hope of catching a look at the Bearded Reedlings, nowt doing thankfully as I’d left my batteries in my bag and was almost out of power…durrrrr!! The evening was redeemed by this lovely little female Stonechat and the setting sun.
- Been a few weeks since I visited @cumbriawildlife.bsky.social South Walney which sounds daft as I live half way up the island but it is landscape photography season and my attention has been elsewhere. Here’s a few images of a quiet day.
- A quick I-phone shot of a scene out the back of out hotel in Ibiza. A brief glimpse of sunshine between the storms that have been rolling in this weekend.
- I think I will photograph this oak at every visit to the Brathay. These were just over a year apart.
- A split toned edit of the Brathay Oaks.
- The Pikes reflected in Elterwater. Often photographed this scene with differing levels of light. Sunday morning as the mist began to lift was a bit special.
- Some lovely conditions at the Brathay this morning…..eventually. Thick mist persisted for a couple of hours. Great to be out on a dedicated landscape shoot, really enjoyed the morning.
- It’s thickening as the minutes pass so we wait and wait and look about a bit and wait a bit more…..wish I’d brought my flask
- A view of the distant Langdale Pikes across Tom Heights from a stand of silver birch.
- Some autumn colour showing at Tarn Hows. Out with the family celebrating Gooses birthday and enjoying a weeks stay at her ancestral seat, Outrake Farm, Coniston.
