It's interesting how many of our major food crops are related to plants bearing some of the most terrifying and dangerous toxins known to us.
In the same family as datura and deadly nightshade, we have potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, tomatillo, tamarillo, goldenberry, goji berry, and... That's all I can remember.
in the family tree of poison hemlock, and even more terrifying, water hemlock: parsnips, carrots, celery, parsley, angelica, fennel, dill, coriander, caraway... A whole heap of aromatics tbh.
