I don’t assume this means that normal people are being pushed to the left although I think they’re amenable to it, I just think they’ve been failed so many times that the distinctions are less important
Feb 4, 2026 04:36the twin cities are obviously a bit of an exception, but i was recently bagging groceries with a little old lady in a jean jacket who was talking to me about a guy telling her about late stage capitalism and the importance of creating dual power and she looked to be in complete agreement
she did not even remember the terms, i think she called it like "end phase capital" or something because she is completely away from this discourse and literature, but when the world is ending you get pretty aware of where you are and what you should be doing
I think the most striking thing is how fuckin mad these very middle of the road people are at the party leadership, finally
It could if there were anything like institutions of the working class that could leverage this awareness into political action of the class. What people want is concrete action.
