I think there are a lot of things that change schemas in a similar way and “cancellation” isn’t more unique or even destructive than other changes are per se, but it does have an effect that is often impossible to ignore

In my initial reading I *thought* you meant that your knowledge of the artist's *behavior* was what changed the context. If that *is* what you mean, please don't use the word "cancellation" for *that*, if you want me to understand what you're saying.
