Also, they're clearly not hiding the fact that they think he's the next big thing, he's got a program that would be fit for an already established top sprinter/classics rider... I hope they haven't put too much pressure on this guy too early, and this is the result of it.
Interesting point. No word of illness or injury from Morkov, just disappointment. After the near-savant performances we saw from him last year, this is a strange development indeed.
I hope it's just early season difficulties + new teammates needing to find each other. Brennan looked good in the first sprint at least. We just have to be patient and see 🙈 But when you look at his program, he doesn't have a lot (any?) smaller races to adjust these things and that worries me a bit.
Jan 24, 2026 14:16I am still optimistic. His burst in that first sprint was impressive, just came from too far back. I will be keen to see him work with Wout at Omloop and other races, and I think he can compete at a race like KBK. Sprinting is a precarious business, but he I am confident he will learn and improve.
