- A belated, but hopefully still relevant set of thoughts on the #WorldAIDSDay: the voices of #sex #workers who have been active in HIV activism, as well as those of their allies, need to become more prominent in research and broader public discussions on the subject matter. A thread.
- This is crucial due to the criminalisation of sex work in several countries, its material and emotional impact on sex workers, but also such criminalisation's impact on the sex workers' limited access to HIV and AIDS prevention and treatment programmes.
- It is also timely in the context of the increasing stigmatisation of sex workers, coupled in many cases with the spike in transphobia in several countries across the world.
