- Punishing law-abiding neighbors for coming to our country after their family supported US efforts overseas and seeking legal status the right way should never end up with detention. I have sat in Emran and Sajad's home, shared a meal with them, and see no threat having them in our community.
- They hold jobs, pay taxes, go to school, work harder, and live more modestly than many of us. They deserve to be here, and they are being punished and their family put through hell because our current government lacks a shred of compassion.
- I will not be supporting legislation that reduces the already-paltry representation of the minority party in any committee. We cannot give up our voice without a fight. www.sltrib.com/news/politic...
- Today we unveiled new legislation to divert $200m away from the Bear River Development, a boondoggle project that our tax dollars have been set aside to fund, to funding efforts to send water to Great Salt Lake.
- We'll be sharing more in partnership with local advocates soon, but today I had the chance to catch up with Dakota Jones, Katie Boue & Brody Leven who showed up to support the bill. This is a critical effort to protect the livability & viability of our community & to put our $$$ where our mouth is!
- The Utah Capitol always looks better with a more colorful crowd.
- Utahns who are fed up with the status quo are realizing that our campaign represents the only viable alternative to more of the same politics that drove trust in government down and cost of living up. I'm running on my record of standing up for my constituents, not away from it.

- Today I’m announcing the Utah Cares Act, a new bill that would expand the healthcare access that I get as a state legislator to everyone in Utah.
- PEHP does a great job managing our care, and we’d get big corporations out of the business of providing healthcare to employees and levy a new tax on them to pay for universal coverage at much lower rates than most Utahns currently have access to.
- We can expand coverage here in Utah, lower costs for our community, cut red tape that inflates the amount we spend on healthcare, and increase the flexibility folks have in finding a job that fits them best without worrying about the implications of leaving employer-provided care.
- Don’t we all deserve the great, affordable care we get as elected officials?
- Over the past few weeks, we've seen the power local businesses have in rallying Utahns around issues impacting our community. Stop Mother Cafe & Bar this week, Monday through Thursday from 9-11am to help us get on the ballot and enjoy great beverages!
- It's such a privilege to represent South Salt Lake and to have the endorsement of Mayor Cherie Wood. SSL is truly a city that is doing its best provide for the whole community. www.ksl.com/article/5144...
- Save our Great Salt Lake! I’ve been so fortunate to work with so many great advocates advancing the conversation that is needed to save the lake. Utah Rivers Council, Youth Coalition for GSL, UYES, Sierra Club & many others continue to play a key role in this movement, which needs a champion in DC.
- Multibillion dollar problems won’t be solved by the private sector: we need real change to avert further disaster. Stay tuned for more on GSL soon.
