- A common Q from British colleagues I keep getting is why isn’t asylum as salient in Spain’s political debate as in other countries like UK, given Spain had the 2nd most asylum apps in 2024 in EU (165K, after Germany)? Attitudes to immigration also remain quite favorable (ESS 2024).
