- Reposted by Morgan ClendanielTo recap the White House's official position, the racist video was posted erroneously by a staffer and they took it down, but even if it was posted on purpose, the outrage would have been fake because the post was fine and inspired by the Lion King
- Hard ethical debate in my house about whether or to correct the kid when she calls a Rubik's Cube a "Cervix cube"
- The Hims Wegovy pill potentially not actually doing anything physiological to your body would create one of the most valuable studies on the placebo effect we have ever seen, and thus they should be allowed to continue.
- A modest proposal to improve the Winter Olympics ratings: They should move any Summer event that takes place indoors (gymnastics, basketball, what have you) to Winter.

- What if—and I just came up with this idea myself—there was one, purpose-built city designed to be where the Olympics happened. You could call it Olympic-town or something. Put a big statue of Zeus there, just for kicks.
- Not to take anything away from how impressive it is that Lindsey Vonn is going to compete at the Olympic level with ACL damage, but you could ALSO take away that all bodies are not as fragile as some people want you to believe and that even with injuries or damage you can be active and training.

- San Francisco teachers striking on Monday. I'm sure the takes from Silicon Valley execs will be measured. (Though I guess none of their kids are public school so they won't be that worked up).
- For the first time, I have a (what I presume to be) AI-generated song stuck in my head and I’m spiraling.
- First movie I remember being actively not allowed to go see despite begging to because of how awesome the posters looked in the theater.
- Odd how many posts I saw saying Democrats had already rolled over on many of these demands! I started to believe it.
- Besides the point but David Ross was the director of the ICA, the SFMoMA and the Whitney (and got a lot of press during all of these stints) and yet does not have a Wikipedia page. He is, in fact, the only former Whitney director without one.

- THE WRESTLER (2008) a film everyone could not stop talking about at the time that no one has thought of or mentioned since.
- Minneapolis anti-ICE actions have inspired and galvanized a wide spectrum of left-of-center people across the country. I am sure there are some problems on the ground but feels generally like a weird thing to pick at when there are so many other objective failures in this area every day.
- I'm Claude Coding an amazing system to help guide my upcoming fantasy baseball season, but I'm really bad at fantasy baseball so all the inputs make no sense. Just going to be a season of my bad ideas mediated through insane AI coding. I plan to come in first.
- The scene in Best In Show where Parker Posey and her husband name check brands—Starbucks, Apple, J. Crew, LL Bean—is so funny now because all those businesses are still major cultural signifiers but totally different ones now.
- She already did this with Katie Miller!
- I don’t think going full “abhorrent” works when it’s an intra-Jewish argument! You’re not going to shame Krasner into thinking he got something wrong about how Jews feel about Nazis.
- Fiber is going to be the next protein, but Epstein was already there with these muffins. Just another thing he weirdly presaged.
- Step Brothers (2008)
- Another step closer to the MAGA antipope, my friends.
- That so many people have decided that doing the right thing means “giving into the mob” is, to put it lightly, a huge net negative for society.
- “.. Weiss insists she does not want to cut ties with Attia over his links to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and sees it as giving in to the mob.” @calderone.bsky.social $PSKY www.thewrap.com/creative-con...
- Any kind of yelling, grunting, screaming, swearing at the gym: totally fine, if not encouraged. If you count your reps out loud you should be sent to an ice floe.
- I think if Claude Code makes a mistake that is its own fault, you shouldn't have to waste your tokens for it to fix it. That's on you, man. I don't have to pay if the mechanic screws up my car.
- Really loved this story, especially the 7th Guest references. I can still remember the solutions to some of my favorite 7th Guest Puzzles.

- Before the internet, you didn't have to know about the weird and inconsistent Congressperson from some random district of little import across the country. Now you have to hear their every random thought, and everyone else's thoughts about their thoughts.
- They won’t say who sent this email though
- “A review of 47 victims’ full names on Sunday found that 43 of them were left unredacted in files that were made public by the government on Friday, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis. Several women’s full names appeared more than 100 times in the files. “ www.wsj.com/us-news/law/...
- What are you people cooking? Hard news to take but for both your health and your wallet you should be eating chicken (or beans), rice, and a vegetable like most nights a week. The bodybuilders were right.
- Attia is having a bit of repercussions now, and good. But again, he knew these emails were about to be released and yet entered into a very public new business arrangement! They feel immune from consequences.
- Insert longevity joke here
- (The Wrap) - CBS News is expected to cut ties with new contributor Peter Attia, a wellness expert, over his dealings with Jeffrey Epstein, according to an individual with knowledge of Paramount’s thinking. @sharonwaxman.bsky.social @calderone.bsky.social $PSKY www.thewrap.com/creative-con...
- Over the weekend, Peter Attia presumably accidentally let a scheduled Instagram post about a non-Epstein issue publish and he’s getting wrecked in the comments. Good to know about Metformin, though.
- Beyond the white supremacy, it's so ridiculous that these guys pretend to have some deep connection to the classics, just like when they got fake mad about the Emily Wilson translation, like they're at home every day pondering ways to translate polytropos. www.the-independent.com/arts-enterta...

- Current detente in my house: “If dada doesn’t get to listen to 1 song for every 3 KPop Demon Hunters songs, he will scream” and “if dada listens to more than 1 song before the same 3 KPop Demon Hunters songs play again, someone else screams.”

- Stay on Twitter or not, not my business. People putting pictures of their kids on there at this point, though: Boy, I don't know.
