- We were so lucky that my MIL was a really excellent (retired) elementary reading specialist. Not just in helping our boys learn to read, but helping their teachers level up reading instruction for all kids. Not new ideas! Just not the ones consultants were selling. 🤦🏻♀️

- You have to do the experiment!! I’m almost entirely limited to PCR assays to identify/detect viruses (which is WAY simpler than drug design!) but when I talk to LMRs about designing those primers/probes, I say you just have to try them. Because what “should” work frequently doesn’t!

- That is a TONGUE. 😍 Our black lab G, instead of growing huge paws, I swear grew a huge tail and tongue. And grew into them (mostly) later. We encountered a toddler when G was that age, who was so excited to pet a dog! And then he saw G’s tongue and backed away horrified. 😂😭
