I choose to honor the Indigenous people of this land tomorrow (and every day). I'm sure most of you won't even interact with this post, but I am nauseated that people glorify Columbus. I have tremendous respect for those upon whose ancestral land we live.
Same! Why are we glorifying someone who opened the door to two continents' mass genocide and the incalculable loss of whole cultures? I hope to honor those who live and have lived on this land I'm standing on long before me, in this case, the Nisenan of Northern California.
