- I just learned that The Post fired Marty Weil. I wasn't in the newsroom much, but when I was, he came in for his evening shifts, he would come through and say hello to literally everyone there. A really great guy, and a true sign of what The Post is giving up.
- If you can't stand up for a fellow journalist when she's being ridiculously bullied and demeaned for asking a basic question of a public leader, you sure as hell aren't going stand up for anything as abstract as a national principle or ethos. American journalism is dying. And with it, our republic.
- there's something unholy about the Trump administration being laser focused on "fraud" while Trump pardons an endless clown car of fraudsters and bilks taxpayers at every opportunity. it's just transparently absurd.
- whoever figures out a way to bundle independent journalism subscriptions will be a hero
- Most of the Washington Post’s tech reporters were laid off today, including me. I have loved my time at the paper, which is where I wanted to work from age 15. I take some consolation in not being among the survivors who will have to work harder with less for fewer readers. On to better things.
- "I realized that the Post wasn’t the same paper that had recruited me, and that I didn’t want to work for an owner and publisher who couldn’t articulate a vision and confused contempt for the newsroom with a business plan." -- Ashley Parker, on why she jumped ship www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...
- Anyway, congrats to Will Lewis bumping the UK tabloid scandal to the second sentence of his obit.
- A brief, recent history of the Washington Post: 1- Trump wins in 2024. 2- Bezos and minions make series of Trump-friendly changes to paper. 3-Readership tanks. 4- Bezos and minions fire tons of employees while telling them the audience just doesn't like what they're doing.

- I personally do not think some rich man should be able to buy an institution like this like a toy and then break it when he doesn’t want to play with it anymore. bsky.app/profile/benm...
- Watch to the end. It’s < 90 seconds.
- James Comer is bringing Hillary Clinton before his committee to testify about Epstein despite having zero contact with him, but not Epstein’s neighbor Howard Lutnick who lied about his connections to Epstein over many years which is proven in the files.
- Imagine seeing photos and videos of ugly old men raping underage girls and thinking, "I need to protect those horrible men at all costs."? Pam Bondi is a soulless villain.
- @billkristolbulwark.bsky.social on Bad Bunny: "They should bring him to the Hill and have him talk to the Democratic senators and House members about how to deliver an effective message." Bill joins @timmiller.bsky.social in the latest Bulwark Podcast:
- happening this morning in Minneapolis -- ICE agents drawing guns on observers. I reiterate again that it is only a matter of time before DHS kills more innocent people in Minnesota. Congress needs to shut this shit down right now.
- One of the things bothering me about how people are responding to the Epstein files is that there are tons of conspiracies being created and spread about what’s in them, rather than people just believing the victims like they could have been doing for years now
- How did they redact abusers but not the victims? And they expect us to believe 40 nude photos went unnoticed? That’s exactly why people think the DOJ did this on purpose, to shame these women for coming forward.
- Help us out, we suck at math — which is more $125 million or $8 million?
- The President of the United States is compromised. It is time for Congress to act. Now!
- SHABOOZEY: “Immigrants built this country.”
- Bad Bunny at the Grammys: "Before I say thanks to God, I want to say ICE out. We're not savage, we're not animals, we're not aliens, we are humans, and we are Americans."
- Liam made people look. Now don’t look away. We still have children in ICE custody eating bad food, drinking questionable water, living in filthy conditions, and carrying a lifetime of trauma they shouldn’t have to survive. #FreeTheChildren
- Liam is home now and we are grateful to @joaquincastrotx.bsky.social for traveling to Minneapolis with him and his dad. Welcome home Liam ❤️❤️
- Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning. Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.
- I wonder if the New York Times will go after any of the prominent academics in the Epstein files for being rapists as hard as they went after Claudine Gay for being kind of sloppy with citations in her graduate thesis. If not, why not?

- NO LIES 👇 DETECTED.......
- It should not take a court order to get a toddler out of a prison.
- They don’t go after Don Lemon because he’s weak. They go after him because he’s effective.
- The reviews for “Melania” are going to be far more entertaining than the movie. What a fabulous headline:
- Beyond this one post, I am not wasting time on “I don’t like him, but” This is not the time to give an inch. This is an emergency. This is not reporter gets wh press credential vindictively pulled This is different and not the time for even mild fucking-around
- “… exercising their rights over the next three years. This is especially true of instances where Trump’s government is eager to criminalize forms of speech, activism, and support for immigrants as “terrorism.”” zeteo.com/p/don-lemon-...
- Or how about this headline — “American citizen arrested without cause after exercising his Constitutional rights.” Very important that government propaganda not become the default framing.
- The arrest of Don Lemon is yet another alarming attack by the Trump administration on Americans’ First Amendment rights. A free press is fundamental to democracy. This is unacceptable & we will continue to fight back. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...
- So this administration has charged an independent Black journalist reporting in Minnesota but not two white agents who murdered two citizens
- Is this real? Please tell me this is real
- The arrests of journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort are a test for every MSM member with a platform. If you are not voicing your outrage at this blatant violation of the First Amendment, you are utterly discredited as a journalist.
- Donald Trump and Pam Bondi once again violated the Constitution. They’re wasting your tax dollars arresting journalists — while protecting pedophiles and the murderers of Renée Good and Alex Pretti. That’s authoritarian bullshit.
- Thinking about my buddy @donlemonofficial.bsky.social
- friend of mine is an undocumented immigrant and has been hiding in Melania theaters bc he knows people assume no one is in there
- I keep hearing the same argument from MAGA: "What about all the citizens murdered by illegals". Then get a warrant and go arrest them! Don't patrol the streets terrorizing everyone, arresting children at schools and US citizens because you don't know who to arrest. See the difference?
- When the president was calling all Somali immigrants "garbage" who "come from hell" and "contribute nothing" to America and therefore needed to go "back where they came from" did you ask him to "stop the rhetoric," Tom?
